Dogtopia is the leading dog daycare provider with more than 160 locations operating in 35 states of the USA and Canada, with another 250 in the development pipeline to open. Dogtopia is looking for an experienced and tenacious HR Manager responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle as strategic and tactical partners to the business across all departments.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver on Human Resources (HR) strategy and consultation. Provide regular coaching, guidance, and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, regulations, and feedback to help manage the operations
  • Support all areas of HR, including talent and performance management, engagement, positive workplace environment, organizational development, employee relations, employment law, and effective adoption of company initiatives and strategies.
  • Talent acquisition, search, recruitment, and compensation experience to identify the most suitable talent for roles and coordinate talent acquisition efforts, interviews, reference checks and on-boarding procedures
  • Manage the pre-hire, references, background checks, results and offer letters
  • Ensure timely completion and processing of new hire tasks and documentation
  • Develop and manage employee performance assessments with the Leadership Team
  • Maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions. In conjunction maintain and update HR documents and job descriptions
  • Contribute to better organization and planning, and help leaders be more effective in their roles
  • Work with managers to mitigate potential risk by providing strong employee relations support and guidance
  • Maintain current knowledge of HR compliance related laws and regulations
  • Coordinate open enrollments and offer guidance for employee benefit programs
  • Update employee handbook with management review and approval and maintain bulletin boards with required posters
  • Assist with employee and mid-management training as needed
  • Process Workers’ Compensation claims, short-term and long-term disability and support related record keeping
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience preferred
  • Superior client service and follow up skills
  • PHR or SHRM certified a plus
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Indeed experience (posting jobs and managing portal)
  • Paylocity experience a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Maintain a positive attitude and exhibit proactive, organized behavior on all tasks
  • Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion, and judgement
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage high stress situations and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it
