contact <a href=\"http:\/\/thechampionfarm.com\">The Champion Farm<\/a> to get on our list<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why this class may make sense for you:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dogs have needs for leadership, respect, exercise, love, and knowing their place in the pack.\u00a0 \u00a0This class will help you understand the fundamentals of how to meet these needs&#8230;.and the right order of meeting these needs.<\/li>\n<li>Taking your dog to daycare is a great plan to help with many of these elements.\u00a0 Dogtopia&#8217;s canine coaches will reinforce the expected behaviors that you set at home!\u00a0 The combination of dog daycare and your fundamental dog-behavior understanding will pave the way to an amazing experience for you and your furry family member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you can expect from the class:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Edgar from <a href=\"http:\/\/thechampionfarm.com\">The Champion Farm<\/a> is our favorite dog behaviorist and trainer.\u00a0 His unique tools and techniques have been rated very highly by previous class participants.\u00a0 Several students have learned all they need from the class, and others have continued to work with Edgar outside of this class.<\/li>\n<li>Please come prepared with your list of questions about your dog\u2019s behavior and what you\u2019d like to change.\u00a0 You will be provided answers to those questions!\u00a0 If you don\u2019t feel you have your questions answered, please let us know ASAP during class.\u00a0 That\u2019s why we\u2019re here!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you need to do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>E-Mail to CarriageCrossing@Dogtopia.com to let us know you&#8217;d like to attend, and send your latest vaccination records showing your pup is up to speed on Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper\/Parvo.<\/li>\n<li>While Edgar is providing answers to other individuals\u2019 questions, please stay tuned in.\u00a0 You will often find insights into your own situation that you may not have expected.\u00a0 This is precisely why most people love the group setting for these sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Listen\u2026.practice\u2026.observe\u2026.feedback\u2026.improve\u2026.practice.\u00a0 The great thing about the class is we can learn from Edgar, and practice what we learn.\u00a0 But just as important we can observe each other and learn from each other.\u00a0 Often in these classes what\u2019s intuitive to one person is non-intuitive to the next.\u00a0 So we help each other by giving feedback on observations.\u00a0 This is great, especially for family members who can help each other during practice after class.<\/li>\n<li>Continued practice between classes and after classes.\u00a0 When you are practicing with proper techniques you will see results \u2013 and what a great feeling!\u00a0 Practice is essential!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When you arrive:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will be provided a slip lead for your pup if you don\u2019t already have one.\u00a0 This is a key tool to communicate with your pup the behavior you need him to do\u2026.and stop doing.<\/li>\n<li>We will all go into the Park playroom.\u00a0 It is common that your pup will initially be anxious in this setting.\u00a0 If so, we will give you drills to do with your pup to take his mind off the stress and burn some energy.\u00a0 These drills are super important \u2013 the reasons will be explained early in the training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>During class:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foundational topics will undoubtedly come up while answering your questions.\u00a0 We will discuss:\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership behaviors your pup needs from you, how they perceive your leadership (or lack thereof), and how they perceive your state of mind.<\/li>\n<li>How your pup understands what you want from them, and how your pup understands what you want them to stop doing<\/li>\n<li>How controlling your pup\u2019s body will enable you to improve your pups state of mind<\/li>\n<li>Understanding a dog\u2019s needs in general\u2026..and your pup\u2019s needs in particular<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the second week of class, we will address new questions that came up during your practice, and we will reinforce your knowledge and skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tools and Techniques<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slip leads to provide guidance for your pups<\/li>\n<li>Chalk\/circles to help with visualizing the importance of spacing, and help with practice\/drills<\/li>\n<li>Playroom toys to help with practice\/drills<\/li>\n<li>Handling other people\u2019s dogs to build your skills, as well as to observe and learn from others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We look forward to working with you and your pup on improving a wonderful relationship\ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When, Where: Last Class: Sunday\u2019s 2\/26 and 3\/5, from 6-8 PM at Dogtopia Next class is TBD &#8211;
