However, it’s extremely important to plan ahead for\u00a0puppy boarding<\/a>\u00a0before it becomes a necessity! There are so many factors to consider when boarding your puppy, that you’ll want to take your time and make sure to pick the right choice. \u00a0Also, when boarding with a best in class open-play facility you’ll need to understand the basics that we require to board with us and take part in our\u00a0doggy day care<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Puppy Boarding in Commerce, MI: The Basics<\/h2>\n

Boarding your puppy doesn’t have to be a stressful experience for them. \u00a0Your puppy can get the benefit of world class doggy day care while staying for overnight boarding at any of our Dogtopia locations. \u00a0At such an early stage in social skill building, Dogtopia is the smart choice for boarding your puppy due to our ability to socialize them safely while you’re away.<\/p>\n

Before you even decide to board your puppy, you need to cover your basics. \u00a0Here’s a helpful list below:<\/p>\n

  1. Get vaccinated. \u00a0You veterinarian will need to ensure that your pup has had all their vaccinations prior to boarding. \u00a0For the health of your pup and all of our doggy guests, you MUST be current on the following vaccinations: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella<\/li>\n
  2. Your pup should be over 3 months of age<\/li>\n
  3. If your puppy is over 7 months of age, they MUST be spayed or neutered (nobody wants puppies having puppies!!)<\/li>\n
  4. You’ll need to\u00a0review your pup’s health history with most dog boarding kennels, and those pups who have had a communicable disease in the past 30 days are not allowed at Dogtopia<\/li>\n
  5. Flea & tick preventative: \u00a0nobody likes fleas and ticks and all the itchiness they bring!\u00a0 Your pup needs to have their monthly preventative in order to play & stay at Dogtopia.\n

  6. You will need to attend a Meet & Greet, which is a thorough evaluation of your puppy to see if they would enjoy our open play doggy day care.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With all of the above being necessary before boarding your puppy, it’s no wonder we recommend coming in for a Meet & Greet with your pup early on, BEFORE you have a need for boarding. \u00a0Once you’re established as a client of ours, we’re able to get your pup into boarding with ease.<\/p>\n
