Is there any evaluation process before my dog’s first day at Dogtopia?
While we strongly believe that there is no such thing as a bad breed or a bad dog, not every dog is suited for our off-leash, open-play environment. We take our doggie guests’ safety very seriously, so each one must first complete a thorough Meet & Greet to ensure that they are comfortable in open play.

Will my dog play in one large playroom with all the other dogs?
All Dogtopia dogs are separated into playrooms based on their size and temperament. This allows them to be their best, most confident doggie selves with like-minded pups who match their playtime vibe.

What happens if there’s an incident between my dog and another?
At Dogtopia, we strive to create a safe environment for dogs, but we acknowledge that not all dogs will get along. Our team is highly trained to understand dog body language, and if we see that a dog is becoming upset, we will take steps to remove that dog before the situation escalates. We acknowledge that since our environment is like a child’s daycare, the occasional squabble may break out. That’s why we train our team to recognize these situations and remove a dog that may cause problems with other dogs in our care.

Does daycare include naps and mealtime?
Yes! We have naptime every day from 12 to 2 p.m. in our home-style crates, which offer the dogs a safe den to rest in and have some “me time." Our staff also uses this time to safely provide individual treats, meals, and administer medication if needed. Dogs adapt to the naptime routine easily, both because it’s at the same time each day and because all their friends are enjoying the much-needed downtime, too!

Will indoor dog daycare impact my dog’s potty training?
Indoor dog daycare has no negative impact on house training—if it did, we would not be in business! Dogs don’t think about inside vs. outside the way people do. They view the world around them through sight and sound but mostly by smell. Although sanitized multiple times a day, indoor playrooms do not smell like your house. They smell a lot like the outdoors to your pup!

What steps will you take to protect my dog’s health?
Dogtopia is committed to the health of all dogs in our care. Our standard is to disinfect all surfaces and equipment twice daily. Unlike other dog care facilities, we separate our play areas with walls instead of chain-link fences. This protects against airborne contagions and prevents the overstimulation that may come from seeing dogs they cannot play with. While our prevention methods are well beyond the industry standard, social dogs do share germs from time to time—just like at a child’s daycare.
