The Dog Aging Project invites dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and health conditions to join the most ambitious canine health study in the world. The Project is actively enrolling dogs from all across the United States. Everyone nominating their dog and completing the Health and Life Experience Survey makes a vital contribution to the research and helps all of us better understand canine wellness and aging. The goal? To help our pups live longer, healthier lives!<\/p>\n

The team is led by scientists and veterinarians at the University of Washington and Texas A&M University and includes partners at multiple Universities and private veterinary practices. The Project\u2019s groundbreaking work has been showcased in news outlets around the nation and the world, including The New York Times<\/em>, CNN<\/em>, TIME<\/em>, CBS<\/em>, NBC<\/em>, Bloomberg News<\/em>, Wired<\/em> magazine, Wall Street Daily<\/em>, Nature<\/em>, AARP<\/em> magazine, and Popular Science<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dogs that meet specific criteria may also be invited to join additional research efforts, including the Test of Rapamycin in Aging Dogs (TRIAD),<\/em> designed to determine whether it improves health and increases the lifespan of companion dogs. The rapamycin study is specifically looking for dogs age 7 or older, and weighing more than 44 pounds, along with other criteria, and clinical trial sites are located throughout the United States. Dogs that do not meet the clinical trial criteria or live too far from a test site are still needed for the main Dog Aging Project study focusing on understanding how genes, lifestyle, and environment influence aging.<\/p>\n
