Mississauga Dog Park Spotlight: Lakeside Park

Located at Southdown and Lakeshore Rd. W, Lakeside Park is one of Mississauga’s most scenic dog parks, thanks to its waterfront location. Lakeside Park’s dog area is just part of a larger park, making it a great destination if you need to entertain children as well as pets. Next to the leash-free zone, there’s a splash pad, a children’s play area and picnic tables.

There are chain-link fences around the perimeter to keep dogs secure. Lakeside Park offers 1.6 acres with lots of hills, providing an opportunity for our furry friends to get a good workout.

Lakeside Park is equipped with a water station in the summer, which provides dogs a place to quench their thirst. There are a few trees that can be used for shade, and a bulletin board located close to the front entrance of the dog park. The dog park boasts dual in-and-out gates to allow you to easily let your dog go off leash.

Because of its proximity to factories like the Suncor Energy factory, Lakeside Park is often noisier than other dog parks.

Lakeside Park is open from 5:30 AM until midnight. They encourage you to purchase a voluntary membership of $10 per dog per year for one dog or $15 per dog per year for more than one dog. To purchase a membership, visit http://leashfreemississauga.ca.

While dog parks offer a nice opportunity to play outdoors in the summer, some dog owners prefer their pets enjoy playtime in a more climate-controlled environment, Dogtopia provides a fully supervised, and fully safe indoor environment for dogs. We also offer short-term and long-term boarding, as well as grooming services.
