The air exchange constantly draws in outside air so even though the dogs are indoors, they are still getting fresh air like they would if they were outside.<\/p>\n We deep clean and sanitize the playrooms multiple times a day to keep them clean and promote good health. The rubber flooring is specially designed with your dog\u2019s comfort in mind; it\u2019s easy on paws, hips and joints, something that is especially beneficial for older dogs and dogs suffering hip dysplasia and other joint ailments.<\/p>\n Leaving your pup alone for the first time can be a stressful experience for any dog parent. You can check in on your fur baby using the webcams in each of our playrooms. All you need is a device that is connected to the internet. You\u2019ll see them having fun and making new BFFFs (best furry friends forever).<\/p>\n We realize how important your dog\u2019s safety is. That is why each of our playrooms is fully supervised by our highly trained team. Our team receives training on how to recognize even the most subtle dog body language. For daycare and boarding clients, we ask that they bring any food, medication and bedding.<\/p>\n Canine influenza (CIV) is not the same as kennel cough – it is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus. There are currently two known strains that effect dogs – H3N8 and H3N2 \u2013 and there have been several cases confirmed in the San Jose area. Although this dog flu is not contagious to humans, humans can spread the virus if they do not follow strict protocols, and of course it can be very easily spread between dogs at any location where dogs congregate (dog parks, vets, daycares, etc.).<\/p>\n The signs of Canine Influenza are lethargy, loss of appetite, dehydration, cough, runny nose, and\/or fever, although many dogs (around 20%) may be infected and show no signs of illness. Dogtopia of San Jose follows all the recommended procedures to minimize the risk of passing on this influenza (regular deep cleaning, constant washing, constant monitoring, etc.), but even these are not a 100% guarantee against infection. We require all new pups must be vaccinated, and, because of the recent return to the virus to the Bay Area, all existing pups to be vaccinated by September 1st, 2019.<\/p>\n Although the vaccination is not 100% effective, it will reduce the severity of symptoms in all cases.<\/p>\n We do not give refunds for services already rendered, but will typically refund the value of any unused portion of a pass, adjusted for the actual usage.<\/p>\n At Dogtopia of San Jose, we recognize that each dog is unique.
