June is National PTSD Awareness Month which is the ideal time to spotlight the mental health challenges many veterans face and reinforce Dogtopia Foundation\u2019s mission to provide life-changing service dogs to those who\u2019ve bravely served our country.<\/p>\n

At Dogtopia of Springfield, we believe dogs have a powerful role to play in healing and we\u2019re proud to be part of a nationwide movement to support veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As a valued pet parent in our community, you\u2019re already helping us make a difference. But this month, we invite you to go even further.<\/p>\n

Why Service Dogs Matter<\/strong><\/p>\n

For many veterans, transitioning to civilian life comes with invisible wounds. PTSD can impact every part of a person\u2019s life including sleep, work, relationships, and overall wellbeing. Specially trained service dogs\u00a0can help ease those burdens by offering emotional grounding, increased safety, and constant companionship. These dogs are trained to interrupt panic attacks, wake veterans from nightmares, and provide a comforting presence in moments of distress.<\/p>\n

The Dogtopia Foundation funds the training of these remarkable dogs through generous donations from parents like you.\u00a0 The Dogtopia Foundation is also committed to funding and promoting groundbreaking research that validates the benefits of dogs to humans, especially service dogs for veterans with PTSD.<\/p>\n

How You Can Help This Month<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here are a few meaningful ways you can support veterans and our service dog mission this June:<\/p>\n

\u00a0Round Up for the Cause<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you check out at Dogtopia of Springfield, consider adding $1 for the Dogtopia Foundation. Every cent of that extra dollar goes directly to our Foundation\u2019s efforts to sponsor service dogs for veterans in need.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Be a Hero Dog<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Hero Dog is a special pup (and parent!) who gives back to our community through a recurring weekly donation of $5 or more to the Dogtopia Foundation your pup gets;<\/p>\n

– one free treat each week<\/p>\n

-automatic complimentary participation in Foundation events (Makin’ Bacon, BFFF Day, except for Bathe it Forward!)<\/p>\n

-your dog will be featured as a Hero Dog on our lobby display and social media<\/p>\n

Donations are automatically processed every Sunday and can be paused or canceled anytime.\u00a0 We would love to add your pup to our Hero dog wall of fame.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Bring Your Dog to Daycare and support monthly fundraisers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your dog\u2019s daily play helps fund a greater purpose on days when we host Foundation events, such as Makin\u2019 Bacon for the Dogtopia Foundation. Plus, your pup benefits from exercise, socialization, and enrichment\u2014coming home happy, healthy, and better behaved. Look for special events benefiting the Foundation on our monthly calendar.<\/p>\n
