While most of us wish we could spend 24/7 with our dog, it’s not always possible. With work or school commitments, travelling, or needing an empty house, boarding at Dogtopia of South Tulsa can be a home away from home for your pup.
After enjoying all of the benefits of our dog daycare during the day, our boarding pups can stay overnight (or for several nights) and enjoy their very own staycation in a space they’ve become comfortable in.
TRUSTED DOG BOARDING IN SOUTH TULSA, OKLAHOMA
Before any of our pups enter the doors to our facility, they must undergo our Meet & Greet evaluation. Our team of on-site experts ensures that an open-play, off-leash environment is a good fit for your pup during the day while staying in a crate during naptime and overnight is also as comfortable for them. During this time, we also conduct a nose-to-tail assessment, determine how they interact with our staff in a controlled setting, and other general observations. This is also a great time to ask our team questions about boarding or any other of our services.
Since we prioritize safety and comfort for all of the dogs that enter our facility, we want to ensure their overnight stay is as enjoyable as possible. This is why we use homestyle crates, which are located in the playrooms. This is very well-suited for most dogs given their pack-animal mentality and affinity for being close to other dogs in a known, comfortable, and trusted environment. We also offer a few private suites for dogs with special needs and for bonded-pair dogs (like siblings). Whether in our playrooms or a private suite, our facility includes a fully-monitored fire, smoke, temperature, and CO detection system, as well as a monitored, camera-equipped security system.
Prior to your pup’s stay, we recommend you bring along your dog’s bedding to make them feel at home. You can also bring in their regular food, as maintaining their normal diet is important for their overall health and comfort. We have found that dogs who have these home reminders have a more relaxing experience.
We understand that leaving your pup in the care of others is a serious consideration. It’s important to know that they will be well cared for and comfortable. It can be stressful for dogs to stay overnight in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by unknown dogs, and unsure of whether you will return to pick them up. That’s why at Dogtopia of South Tulsa, we ask that any boarding dog complete three days of daycare prior to their boarding stay. This will show them that our space is a safe one and that it’s not permanent – you will always come back to pick them up.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN BOARDING AT DOGTOPIA
The day begins with daycare in our supervised, open-play environment. Our brand-new facility includes 6,100 sq. ft. of indoor space, as well as 1,100 sq. ft. of outdoor space – rain or shine, play time is a go! To maintain consistent comfort, we separate our dogs into three playrooms based on size, temperament, and play style. Our Toybox room is ideal for smaller dogs, the Gym for larger dogs, and the Romper Room is best for dogs who have higher energy.
At noon, we let our pups have some much-needed “me time” where they can unwind from playing in their home-style crate. This is also the time to provide lunch and/or administer medication (if applicable). From 2:00 p.m. to closing, our daycare dogs can fit in some final playtime with their new BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever). Our boarding dogs will then be moved to where they will stay for the rest of the night.
Our highly trained Canine Coaches are there to supervise the dogs throughout the entire day. Certified by multiple nationally recognized associations in canine behavior, they can recognize slight changes in body language and mood in dogs of any size, breed, and temperament, and can address concerns in a timely, yet compassionate and proactive manner.
During playtime hours, you will have the chance to tune in to our webcam stream to virtually join in on the fun! You can access this private stream for our pet parents from your computer or smartphone via our website and free mobile app. There’s much tail-wagging cuteness to see!
OUR HEALTH-FOCUSED PROTOCOLS
Each playroom undergoes multiple cleanings a day using a biologically safe, pet-friendly cleaner. We also have UV-filtered HVAC systems in each playroom that help keep the temperature ideal for playing, while also keeping the air fresh and bacteria at bay. Our playrooms also use compressed rubberized flooring, which helps maintain the joint and paw health of pups, and full soundproof walls that keep our dogs focused on their like-minded friend group and not the dogs in the next room.
Before arriving to Dogtopia of South Tulsa, we ensure that all dogs are up to date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella) and free from any fleas, ticks, or contagious diseases. In addition, we require that all dogs receive the initial dose of the Canine Influenza vaccine within 30 calendar days of the Meet & Greet appointment and receive the booster within 30 calendar days of the initial dose. All puppies must be at least three months old, and all dogs seven months and older must be spayed or neutered.
ADD A TRIP TO THE DOG SPA
To help complete their staycation, book your pup a treatment at our fully equipped doggie spa! They can enter full relaxation mode as they get a bath, massage, brush out, or any other of our services.
