New Pet Parent?
If this is your pup’s first time at Dogtopia, there are a few things pet parents should prepare prior to rewarding your dog with the most exciting day ever!
As a mother and daughter, Tammy and Christine never thought they would one day be running a business together. That is until Gracie came along; Gracie, the Holm’s Doberman, joined the family as a puppy in November of 2010. Like all puppies she was full of energy and needed constant attention to curb her natural curiosity and chewing tendencies. With the months getting colder and the holiday season busier, Tammy was finding it more and more difficult to give Gracie the exercise and attention she needed. It was beginning to show throughout the house with the scattered remnants of dog beds and chewed up shoes. Sharing her stories with others, Tammy was encouraged to try dog daycare. Gracie passed her evaluation and quickly became a regular at the Dogtopia of Wilmington. Christine also became familiar with Dogtopia, picking up and dropping Gracie off, and fell in love with Dogtopia’s concept and way of doing business.
After a lot of thought, Tammy and Christine decided that Dogtopia would be a great business venture for them. Christine was working in the property management industry in Philadelphia while looking for her true calling. Tammy was also looking for fulfillment and knew she needed to make a change while struggling as a realtor in a declining housing market. Christine’s love of animals and business degree and Tammy’s previous business ownership experience, combined to make the perfect pair to open the Dogtopia of Elsmere. A true family venture, Kim Holm, father to Christine and husband to Tammy, is also a partner in the business bringing with him an extensive background in business management.
Kim and Tammy Holm reside in Greenville with their dog Gracie. The pair is active in their local community and enjoy playing bridge and golf in their spare time. Christine has been a lover of animals all of her life. Whenever possible she enjoys horseback riding and taking Gracie to the dog park. As soon as she is able Christine plans to make a home for one or maybe even a couple of lucky rescue dogs. Tammy and Christine work together in the store while Kim continues his career in the flooring industry.
Tammy and Christine are joined by Assistant Manager Anita Tringali. Anita joined the Dogtopia family in December 2012. She started out as a Playroom Attendant and quickly showed her potential through her hard work and dedication to our four-legged guests. She rose in the ranks to become a Shift Leader before making her way up to Assistant Manager. Anita truly enjoys her job and it shows through her work with our pet parents and their pups! When Anita’s not working she enjoys running outdoors, spending time with her dog, Bently or at the barn with her horse, Broadway.
Our management team is rounded out by Grooming Manager Eneida Bermudez. Eneida came to Dogtopia with extensive experience grooming all breeds of dogs. Her expertise lies in her knowledge of breed specific cuts while her great level of care and attention to detail provides a wonderful grooming experience. Eneida’s Min Pin Bones frequently accompanies her in the Spa and sometimes joins the pups in the Toy Box for play dates.
