I’ve been to at least 4 different Dogtopia’s and this staff raised the bar to my expectations. Mike specifically went above and beyond in making sure Aston was taken care of for multiple stays and during a July 4th holiday weekend.
The staff is phenomenal and my dog (Lucy) is always so happy to be there. My concerns with Dogtopia Downtown continue to center around the policies (the switch to the new subscription billing service with its lack of flexibility, including lack of roll-over days, the lack of overnight in-person monitoring for boarding) and the flooring. On the whole, though, Lucy enjoys being there and I have discussed these concerns extensively with the management at this Dogtopia location.
I prefer a place with an outdoor space as well, but clearly that is difficult in the middle of a city like DC. I get it. Tough order.
Wonderful meeting and introduction!
We were in DC for just a few days with our puppy and needed a place that felt safe and entertaining for our dog. She loved going to Dogtopia and having the ability to check in via webcams was an added plus. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic. The only change I’d suggest would be to find a way to get the dogs an outside area to poo/pee. It seems like my dog held it all day to be a good girl. Probably just needed to learn the rules more effectively.
