Not long ago, Canine Companions adorable puppy, Mango, embarked on his remarkable journey towards becoming a service dog. In those early days, Mango was a whirlwind of boundless energy, eagerly discovering the world around him. Under the dedicated guidance of his puppy raiser, he was prepared for the next stage of his journey – professional training.

With tears of joy, Mango’s loving puppy raiser, Carter, entrusted the leash to the capable hands of professional trainers Hailey and Kim at the Northeast Regional Training Center in Medford, New York. Over the course of the next months, Hailey and Kim diligently worked with Mango, preparing him with the skills he needed to become an expertly trained service dog.

Throughout his professional training, Mango honed his skills, mastering tasks such as retrieving dropped items, opening doors, and providing assistance with anxiety. Thanks to Hailey and Kim’s efforts, Mango now excels in his duties not only at home but also in public settings such as movie theaters, grocery stores, and office environments. Mango also received comprehensive medical and temperamental testing to ensure that he will be healthy and happy in his upcoming role.
