Ashley Carron (She/Her), Owner

Hi! I’m Ashley, the owner of Dogtopia of North Portland, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to serve our local dog-loving community!

As a passionate dog lover, my vision for Dogtopia of North Portland was simple: to create a safe, vibrant, and fun home-away-from-home where pups can play, socialize, and thrive.

We know that your dog is a beloved member of your family, which is why we’re dedicated to delivering the absolute highest standard of care, transparency, and fun every single day.

Before opening Dogtopia, I spent years in academia teaching speech communication at Oregon State University, followed by 11 years leading operations for a local business with locations across the Pacific Northwest. That background taught me the power of clear communication, high operational standards, and genuine community connections – values that guide everything we do at our facility.

At Dogtopia, safety and fun go hand-in-hand. Our facility is purpose-built for canine wellness, featuring joint-friendly rubberized flooring, climate-controlled playrooms, rigorous sanitization protocols, and live webcams so you can watch your pup play. My goal is to give Portland dog parents total peace of mind while ensuring their dogs have the best day ever, every day.

As for my favorite dog breed… I couldn’t possibly pick one! I love ’em all 🙂

Dakota McGranahan (They/Them), Parent Relationship Manager

Hey there, I’m Dakota! I’ve been part of the Dogtopia North Portland team since February 2026, where I get to do two things I love: creating an amazing experience for you and your pups, and bringing our daycare community to life through marketing and events.

One of my favorite parts of working at Dogtopia North Portland is planning and hosting fun events for our pups and their parents — especially our Photo Parties! There’s nothing better than seeing all of our furry friends having a great time and capturing those special moments.

One of my favorite breeds is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel — those adorable faces are simply impossible to resist!

I’m so excited to get to know you and your pups and help make every visit to Dogtopia North Portland a tail-wagging experience!

Kjirsten Yahn (She/Her), Canine Coach Trainer

Hello, I’m Kjirsten! I have been a part of the team at Dogtopia North Portland since March 2026. I train and support our Canine Coaches and the dogs in our playrooms to sustain a safe, enriching and fun day.

One of my favorite parts of Dogtopia North Portland is the community and trust we’ve built with our pups and their parents! There’s genuinely nothing better than that solid relationship that stems from a mutual adoration for your dog and our call to give the best possible care while we look after them.

If I had to pick a favorite dog breed, I would have to go with the Great Pyrenees! It’s hard not to love their strong nature, loyalty and of course the fluff!
