Bowes Creek Greenway / Bowes Creek Woods — Elgin
Several nature loops through woods and meadow. Combined trails: ~2.3 miles. Ideal for nose-work and birdwatching. -
River Bend / Silver Glen Trail
Multi-use riverside routes with longer out-and-back options. Popular stretches: ~3–4.4 miles. Great for stamina-building walks. -
Fox River Bluff (West) — St. Charles
Scenic loops, boardwalks, and river overlooks. Total trail miles: ~2.3 miles. Check local rules for off-leash areas. -
Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve — West Dundee
Rolling prairie and wooded paths with an approved off-leash area. Trail miles: ~1.5 miles. Good for supervised social play.
Leash reminder: Most preserves require dogs to be leashed. Follow posted rules, carry waste bags, and bring water.
