Help us kick off Paws That Change the World Week as we celebrate nine years of the Dogtopia Foundation!

On Monday, August 10, Dogtopia of Norfolk–Ghent is inviting pet parents to learn more about the Dogtopia Foundation and the incredible ways dogs positively change our world. We’ll be sharing the Foundation’s mission throughout the day and introducing families to our Hero Dog program.

What Does the Dogtopia Foundation Support?

The Dogtopia Foundation’s work centers around three important causes:

  • Service dogs for veterans: Helping fund the training of service dogs for veterans experiencing physical and emotional challenges.
  • Youth literacy programs: Supporting programs that pair children with reading dogs to help young readers develop confidence and strengthen their skills.
  • Employment initiatives for adults with autism: Creating meaningful employment opportunities and helping workplaces become more inclusive.

Each of these initiatives demonstrates the remarkable ways dogs can strengthen communities, build connections, and transform lives.

Help Your Pup Become a Hero Dog

Pet parents can support this mission by enrolling their dog as a Hero Dog. A recurring weekly donation can be conveniently added to your existing daycare enrollment plan, allowing your pup to help dogs positively change the world every week.

Even a small recurring contribution becomes part of something much bigger when our Dogtopia community comes together!

As a special thank-you, every pup who signs up to become a Hero Dog during our celebration will receive a Hero Dog keychain again! It’s a fun reminder that your dog is helping create a more positive and inclusive world.
