Pup Poetry Portraits

“O, the month of May, the merry month of May,
So frolic, so gay, and so green, so green, so green!”

Inspired by Thomas Dekker’s The Shoemaker’s Holiday, our Poetry Portraits event celebrates the merry month of May with a sweet, creative keepsake made just for your dog. Each participating pup will receive a special portrait paired with a custom short poem written by Rissa, our Head Behaviorist and one of the most creative people on our team. Many of our pet parents already know Rissa for her incredible understanding of dogs, but she also has a true love for writing — making this event the perfect blend of personality, poetry, and Dogtopia joy.

This photo day is inspired by the charm of street poets, springtime literature, and the unique spirit every dog brings into our daycare. Whether your dog is silly, soulful, regal, mischievous, or full of zoomies, Rissa will help turn their personality into a little work of art. Poetry Portraits is part of our monthly celebration of literature at Dogtopia of Norfolk-Ghent, where we love finding playful ways to bring dogs, creativity, and community together.
