Dogtopia of Homewood, located at 1722 27th Court South, Homewood, AL 35209, is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (boarding drop-off and pickup only). We are closed for daycare on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Because holiday hours can vary, we recommend calling our Homewood team at (205) 440-3888 to confirm before your visit.

No, Dogtopia of Homewood is closed for daycare on Sundays. We are open from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays for boarding drop-off and pickup only.

Yes, Dogtopia of Homewood requires a reservation for every visit, so we are not able to accept walk-ins. Reservations can be made easily through the Dogtopia app and must be confirmed by our team before you arrive. For same day reservations, please call or text us to confirm availability. Reservations help our Homewood team make sure we have room for your pup and can deliver the safe, supervised experience our pet parents expect. New to Dogtopia? To keep every dog safe and healthy, Dogtopia of Homewood requires all dogs to be current on three vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper (DHPP) and Bordetella. Proof of current vaccinations is required before your dog’s Meet & Greet and before participating in daycare, boarding or spa services. Just let us know which vet you use and our staff will handle having your records sent over!

Yes. Every dog completes a complimentary Meet & Greet before attending daycare or boarding at Dogtopia of Homewood. This assessment helps us confirm that our open-play environment is the right fit for your pup while setting them up for a safe, positive experience. Our trained Canine Coaches evaluate your dog’s temperament, play style, comfort around new people and other dogs, and overall readiness for group play, and we take time to learn your dog’s history, routine and any special needs. From there, we place your dog in the playgroup best suited to their size, temperament and play style, in one of three supervised playrooms at our Homewood facility.

Dogtopia of Homewood welcomes dogs of all breeds and sizes. During your dog’s complimentary Meet & Greet, our Canine Coaches evaluate play style, temperament and personality to determine which of our three playrooms will be the safest and most comfortable fit. Grouping dogs by size, play style and temperament is central to how we keep play fun and positive for everyone, from small breeds to large, high-energy pups. For the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, Dogtopia of Homewood requires dogs attending daycare or boarding to be spayed or neutered by 7 months of age. Because our dogs enjoy supervised open play all day, this policy helps reduce unwanted behaviors, conflicts and stress that can arise as dogs reach sexual maturity. Puppies under 7 months are welcome as long as they meet our other requirements, including a successful Meet & Greet. Yes. Dogtopia of Homewood administers oral and topical medications at no additional charge while your dog is in our care, whether they’re here for daycare or an overnight boarding stay. At this time, we are not able to administer injectable medications. Just let our front desk team know your dog’s medication schedule at drop-off, and our Canine Coaches will make sure it’s handled.

Dogtopia of Homewood features more than 4,300 square feet of climate-controlled indoor playrooms where dogs are grouped by size, play style and temperament for safe, appropriate social play, each supervised throughout the day by a trained Canine Coach. Each of our three spacious playrooms is served by a Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) that continuously draws in fresh outside air, so dogs get the comfort of the indoors with the fresh air of the outdoors. Our rubberized flooring cushions paws and joints for safe, comfortable play. Playrooms are kept between 68°F and 72°F for safe, comfortable play, rest and socialization.

The spa at Dogtopia of Homewood offers a full range of services to keep your dog looking and feeling their best, including baths, nail trims, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, brush-outs and de-shedding treatments. Yes. Dogtopia of Homewood offers convenient curbside drop-off and pickup. Just use the Dogtopia app to let us know you’re on your way and once you’ve arrived, and a team member will come out to safely escort your dog into and out of our facility. It’s a quick, easy option for busy Homewood pet parents, and we have two reserved parking spaces right in front of our entrance to make it seamless.

Yes. Dogtopia of Homewood offers weekly daycare enrollment plans that give your dog a consistent routine to build confidence, stay active and enjoy regular socialization, while offering added value for pet parents. Popular options include 1-day, 2-day, 3-day and Unlimited weekly plans. Enrolled dogs also receive discounted boarding rates and first priority on boarding reservations. Yes. Boarding dogs picked up after 12:00 p.m. on their departure day are charged an additional daycare fee of $29 (Sundays and holidays excluded).

At Dogtopia of Homewood, daycare reservations can be canceled until 8:00 a.m. on the day of your visit. After that, the day counts as used: it comes off your weekly plan, or a drop-in day is charged. Standard boarding reservations can also be canceled until 8:00 a.m. on your scheduled arrival date. For holiday boarding, we require cancellation at least 3 days before your dog’s stay; later cancellations carry a fee of 25% of the scheduled stay. Yes. Dogtopia of Homewood offers multi-dog discounts on both daycare and boarding. For daycare, we offer 30% off 2-day and 3-day weekly enrollments for each additional dog after the first. For boarding, we offer 15% off for each additional dog (excluding major holidays and Spring Break).

Yes. A Manager on Duty is on site at Dogtopia of Homewood during all business hours. Our team is led by General Manager Maria and Area Manager Mackenzie, who have each been with the company for more than three years.
