Dogtopia of Albuquerque West’s Training exists to provide structured, measurable, real-world obedience training, integrated with daycare and socialization aspects to create confident dogs and owners.
We want every client to feel fully at ease the moment they step into our program, with confidence that their dog is safe, in the quality of the training they’re receiving, and in their own ability to learn alongside their dog. Our teaching is supportive, exciting, and non-judgmental, because we believe that learning happens best in a safe place. Training should feel like one big community, cheering for every win and committed to helping every dog thrive.
Meet the Team
Laura Funicelli, Lead Trainer
With three years of professional experience, Laura has worked hands-on with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, ranging from high-drive working dogs to anxious rescues needing confidence and structure. Her approach is rooted in psychology-based positive reinforcement, focusing on clear communication, consistency, and building a relationship that dogs can truly understand.
Laura believes training isn’t about control, but rather about clarity. By understanding how dogs think, learn, and process the world around them, she creates customized training plans that help dogs feel secure while giving owners the tools to lead with confidence. Whether working on foundational obedience, behavior modification, or advanced skills, her goal is always the same: lasting results built on trust.
When not training, Laura loves traveling and exploring new places. At home, she shares her life with two cats and a German Shepherd who continually reminds her that learning never stops… even for trainers.
