Meet the Team

Jolene & Matt, Owners

Matt and Jolene Urbancic are the proud owners of Dogtopia of North Austin. Originally from Ohio, they made Austin their home in the late ’90s. As their two children—Chase, now studying marine biology at the University of North Texas, and Alexandra, studying dance at Arizona State University—prepared to enter middle school, Matt and Jolene decided it was the perfect time to blend their decades of business experience with their love for dogs. They wanted to create a place where dog lovers could confidently bring their pups for safe, fun-filled days of play, or trust that their dogs would be in caring hands while they traveled. Dogtopia, known nationwide for its exceptional service and spotless facilities, aligned perfectly with that vision.

Their commitment paid off: Dogtopia of North Austin earned the 2019–2020 Franchise of the Year award, and their general manager was also recognized as General Manager of the Year for the same period—an achievement the Urbancics credit to their passionate, hardworking team.

At home, Matt and Jolene share life with two golden retrievers, Boomer and Charli, and their spirited rescue Chihuahua, Roxy. They remain immensely proud of their award-winning staff and the outstanding customer experience their team delivers every day.

When they’re not working or playing at Dogtopia, Matt and Boomer serve as a certified complex-environment pet therapy team through the Dog Alliance. Together, they visit hospitals, schools, businesses, and colleges across Austin—bringing comfort, smiles, and plenty of “golden love” wherever they go.

Genevieve Hall, General Manager

Genevieve has been a valued member of our Dogtopia family since August of 2020 and became a part of our management team almost 2 years later. Lifelong Austinite and animal enthusiast, she finds passion and fulfillment in watching the evolution of confidence and personality in our daycare dogs. She wants nothing more to enhance and enrich the lives of every pup that comes through our doors. When not overseeing our pack, Genevieve enjoys reading, caring for her handsome pet skink, and spending her time with her feisty, special needs bull terrier mix, Tambourine. She takes immense pride in our little slice of the Dogtopia world and can’t wait to share it with you.

Leo Alzate, Operations Manager

Leo Alzate is the Operations Manager at Dogtopia North Austin. He joined the team in 2024. He’s been around dogs his entire life and is the dad of Nugget, the friendliest pup you’ll ever meet! His favorite part of working at Dogtopia is getting to interact with all our furry friends, and he does his best to make sure that they are well taken care of every day!

Isabel Supera, Pet Parent Relationship Manager

Isabel Supera is the Pet Parent Relationship Manager at Dogtopia North Austin. She’s a fresh addition to our Dogtopia family as of summer 2026. While she grew up in Chicago, Isabel has lived all over the country and has chosen to make Austin her home. Isabel not only loves connecting and spending time with dogs, but people too, so this role is a fantastic opportunity to engage in both passions. She has two Portuguese Water Dogs that mean everything to her, so she really understands the protectiveness and unique bond a parent has with their pup! Her favorite part of everyday is greeting all of our furry friends!
