It's all about my quality time with BFFFs. You know - socializing, playing and being a smarty pants...sans the pants.

Calling all pet parents in Fort Myers, Florida! If you want your dog to experience the Most Exciting Day Ever as they play, socialize, exercise, and learn in a secure, supervised indoor play facility, then daycare at Dogtopia of Fort Myers is your go-to doggie destination.

We offer half- and full-day daycare options, ideal if you want to drop your pup off while you’re running errands, going to class, at work for the day, or simply want to add more wellness-based activities and exercise to your dog’s day.

We also have several wellness plans, which offer a range of benefits, including a total revamp of your pup’s weekly routine. When you enroll in a wellness plan at Dogtopia of Fort Myers, your furry family member will attend daycare consistently, which can create familiarity and an eagerness to play with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever). As a result, their confidence increases around other dogs, and they can feel calmer in new environments.

STATE-OF-THE-ART DOG DAYCARE PLAYROOMS IN THE CITY OF FORT MYERS

With more than two decades of experience as a dog daycare, Dogtopia has honed a superior indoor playroom environment that both dogs and their pet parents can appreciate. At Dogtopia of Fort Myers, we have 6,664 square feet of play space that includes four large playrooms. We separate pups based on their size, play style, and temperament to maintain safety within our facility and ensure dogs feel comfortable and confident in our care.

The Gym playroom is ideal for larger breeds, as it offers plenty of space for dogs to run, stretch, and play; the Toy Box is an excellent space for our smaller pups that want to interact with like-minded dogs; the Lounge provides a space for our more mature pups to hang out and expand their friend circle, and the Romper Room is for medium-sized dogs with more playtime energy, ready to be the life of the playroom.

The well-being of dogs was top of mind when we designed our playrooms. The compressed rubber flooring offers comfort and essential support for the long-term health of your furry friend’s paw pads, hips, and joints. Our playroom walls extend from floor to ceiling and are soundproof to eliminate distractions from dogs in neighboring playrooms, ensuring that your pup can concentrate on their own activities and furry friend group. We’ve also used double-barrier doors to manage and supervise entries and exits, adding an additional layer of safety to our playrooms.

Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment is especially important to us at Dogtopia of Fort Myerssince we’re an indoor facility. Our approach to cleaning is guided by the expert advice of Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist. We implement a rigorous cleaning regimen, conduct deep cleaning of our playrooms twice daily, and we exclusively use pet-safe cleaning products on all surfaces, avoiding exposure to harsh chemicals that can harm pups. Accidental mishaps during play are promptly addressed using these same cleaning products to ensure a consistently fresh environment.

We have advanced HVAC systems in each playroom to improve the air quality. Using specialized UV lighting, airborne particles and bacteria are filtered out as fresh air comes in, which promotes proper airflow. These systems also allow us to control the climate within our playrooms, so regardless of how hot it gets outside, your pup will always stay cool and comfortable during playtime.

THE BENEFITS OF ATTENDING DOG DAYCARE AT Dogtopia of Fort Myers

Dog daycare offers numerous benefits for both dogs and their owners. Here are a few key advantages:

  • Socialization: Dogs are social animals and thrive on interaction with other dogs and people. Daycare provides a controlled and supervised environment where pups can socialize and learn appropriate behaviors. Regular exposure to different furry friends helps them develop essential social skills, build confidence, and reduce potential anxiety or aggression around other animals.
  • Exercise and mental stimulation: Dogs require regular exercise to maintain their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In our daycare setting, they have access to ample play space and log an average of 30,000-60,000 steps a day. They can run, play, and participate in interactive games that stimulate their minds and keep them physically active. This helps prevent boredom, reduces destructive behavior at home, and promotes a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
  • Alleviates separation anxiety: Many dogs experience separation anxiety when left alone for long periods—daycare provides a solution by offering a stimulating and supervised environment where pups are not isolated. They can interact with other doggie guests and receive attention and care from our trained staff, which can help alleviate separation anxiety and provide them with a sense of security and companionship.
  • Peace of mind for pet parents: Leaving your dog alone at home for extended periods can be stressful for both you and your pup. Our daycare offers peace of mind, as you’ll know your furry friend is in a safe and secure environment, supervised by our highly trained team.
  • Indoor play: Our indoor playrooms mean bad weather or a busy schedule doesn’t have to interrupt your dog’s playtime. Our spacious facility offers sights, smells, and sounds that are very different from home, so there’s no negative impact on potty training. Plus, pups feel like they’re outside, thanks to the fresh air circulating throughout our playrooms.

QUALIFIED CANINE COACHES IN FORT MYERS, FL

Our Canine Coaches play an instrumental role in helping our daycare dogs become even greater canine citizens. They are fun facilitators and encourage safe socialization, organize exercises, and oversee pup activities. Our Coaches, who supervise each playroom, also use their expert knowledge to observe any small shifts in doggie body language, which ensures they can make swift yet thoughtful decisions to prevent any unwanted behavior before it arises and can administer breaks to any pups that need them.

In-depth training must be completed to become a Coach at Dogtopia of Fort Myers, including a four-part training program with a custom curriculum created by Dogtopia’s Registered Canine Behaviorist. This training provides the necessary skills for our Coaches to interact with dogs of any size, breed, or play style. The International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers have approved this curriculum for continuing education credits.

Pet parents receive periodic report cards from our Coaches that outline doggie behavior and new friends made. The more your furry friend comes to daycare, the better our team will understand their personality and play style, which allows us to provide more detailed notes and insights.

WHAT’S ON THE DOGGIE DAYCARE ITINERARY?

There’s never a dull moment when your pup joins the daycare fun at Dogtopia of Fort Myers. We start the day by welcoming our morning crowd when the doors open at 7:00 a.m. Monday-Sunday. These pups are pumped about expending their built-up energy and are ready to play with their furry friend group.

During the day, daycare dogs will enrich their wellness through agility exercises that improve their cardio and brain games that strengthen problem-solving skills and instill a feeling of accomplishment when they successfully complete one of our doggie puzzles. They’ll also form bonds with one another that allow them to tap into their natural pack instinct. Our daycare dogs love to play on the secure play equipment around our playrooms, which helps strengthen their muscles and support their balance and stability.

We also organize themed events throughout the month, which can include special treat days, Arts & Crafts activities to unleash our pups’ creativity, photoshoots with themed backgrounds and props that create frame-worthy photos, and bacon- and peanut butter-flavored bubble parties where pups chase and chomp on tasty bubbles around their playroom.

At noon, our daycare dogs take a break to eat lunch and rest in our home-style crates in the same playroom they played in, which helps them feel comfortable in a familiar space. During this time, our team will also administer any necessary medication to pups, as instructed by their pet parent. While our dogs are relaxing in their crates, our team takes this time to perform a deep clean on all playroom surfaces. We use pet-safe cleaning products without hazardous chemicals and ensure our playrooms are back to sparkling clean before pups play again.

After two hours of much-needed “me” time, daycare dogs are ready for more fun, wellness-focused activities and games. We organize similar activities to the morning routine, but now our pups’ playtime batteries have been recharged and they’re ready to resume playing, learning, socializing, and exercising.

When it’s time for pick-up, you’ll likely have a happily played-out, cuddly pup ready for rest and relaxation for the rest of the night. How do we know this? It’s the Dogtopia Daze—a phenomenon seen throughout the Dogtopia Squad where pups are ready to drift off to dreamland after an exciting, active day at daycare.

FULL-SERVICE DOG SPA IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

The cherry on top of an already exciting day at daycare? A trip to our doggie spa! We have a range of treatments, from more tranquil options like a bath or facial scrub to hygiene necessities like a nail trim, ear cleaning, or teeth brushing. Our expert team knows how to create a comforting environment for pups so they feel calm throughout the entire process. By the time you pick your furry family member up from daycare, they’ll look and smell like a million bones.

LIVE HD WEBCAMS FOR PET PARENTS TO ACCESS

To give pet parents peace of mind, we’ve installed cameras in each playroom, allowing you to watch your dog live from wherever you are—whether in the check-out line at a grocery store, between work meetings, or even while you’re at home. Seeing how much fun your beloved companion has throughout the day offers peace of mind that they are receiving safe and qualified care.

Our iDog webcams are accessible via our free mobile app or website and are only made available to pet parents with a pup in daycare. Each playroom livestream is accessible throughout the day, except between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., to give our dogs privacy as they nap and eat lunch.

DOGTOPIA’S COMMITMENTS TO SAFETY

At Dogtopia of Fort Myers, we follow Dogtopia’s Commitments to Safety which shape our facility’s security and wellness practices. They include:

  • 8-10 hours of off-leash, open play to encourage socialization and exercise
  • A universal vow to treat your dog like a member of the family
  • Supporting a charitable cause through the Dogtopia Foundation that enables dogs to give back to humanity
  • Effective in-store cleaning products created specifically with your dog’s safety in mind
  • A passion for providing both pet parents and pups the best possible service
  • Certified Canine Coaches trained to manage and educate all breeds of dogs

To maintain a safe daycare facility, we implement parameters to help ensure each pup in our Dogtopia Squad meets a baseline of requirements, which have been carefully considered to prioritize safety and security. All Dogtopia daycares enforce these parameters to give pet parents peace of mind and our daycare dogs a safe environment to be their best doggie selves. They include:

  • All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
  • If seven months and older, they must be spayed or neutered
  • Pups must be free of any communicable illness for the past 30 days and any conditions that could spread to others (i.e., fleas, ticks, etc.)
  • Non-aggressive or food- and toy-protective
  • Updated vaccination record, with vaccines administered by a vet 48 hours (seven days preferred) before attending daycare. Vaccines include:
    • Bordetella: Recommended every six months to maintain strong immunity for dogs who are often in social settings.
    • DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”): This is a puppy series beginning at 6–8 weeks old. Pups should be boosted twice at three-week intervals and then again a year later. After the first year, the distemper/parvo combination vaccine is recommended every three years.
    • Rabies: Puppies need to receive a vaccination at or before 16 weeks and a booster shot a year later. After that, they should be vaccinated every three years.
    • Canine influenza: This is highly recommended, and our team will let you know if this is a requirement before booking

WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR MEET & GREET EVALUATION

One of the initial steps we take at Dogtopia of Fort Myers is to perform a Meet & Greet assessment, where our evaluators meet with pet parents and their pup to determine if our off-leash, open-play environment is a suitable fit. This entire evaluation is around 20-30 minutes, and gives insight into your dog’s behavior and comfort in our space. It also allows us to show you around our facility to make sure you feel comfortable as well. Here’s an overview of what you can anticipate during the Meet & Greet:

  • Health history overview: This will involve some paperwork and a review of your dog’s health records.
  • Nose-to-tail assessment: Our expert team will meet your dog and identify sensitivities regarding touch, if applicable. If there are sensitives, our team will note it to ensure your pup feels comfortable.
  • Crate test: Our home-style crates are where our daycare pups nap during the day, and we’ll observe their comfort level in them.
  • Play test: This is when we recreate what daycare will be like for your pup. We’ll bring in a few dogs from the playroom your furry friend would be assigned to in a secure, controlled mini play area and see how they respond to others.

Once these steps are complete, our expert evaluators will meet with you to review our observations and let you know if your pup has the green light to attend daycare. If more time is necessary to build up your dog’s confidence around others, we’ll also let you know, and we encourage you to come back at a later date to see if Dogtopia daycare is a better fit then.
