ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced, caring Dog Groomer to join our established doggie daycare and boarding facility. This role is ideal for a grooming professional who is patient, safety-focused, and committed to providing a low-stress, positive experience for every dog. You will also help maintain a calm and welcoming environment where dog comfort is always a top priority.

In this busy daycare setting, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a steady flow of dogs while still providing personalized attention. You’ll build strong relationships with pet parents through clear and professional communication. We use gentle, patient handling to reduce stress and help dogs feel safe during every grooming session.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a grooming specialist, you will perform full-service grooming, including bathing, brushing, drying, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and anal gland expression. You will also use low-stress handling techniques for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Additionally, you will assess coat and skin condition and communicate any concerns to pet parents or management. Finally, you will maintain a clean, safe, and organized grooming area and follow all safety and sanitation protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must have at least 2 years of professional grooming experience. A certification from a recognized grooming organization, such as the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA), International Professional Groomers (IPG), or International Society of Canine Cosmetologists (ISCC), or an equivalent professional grooming certification, is required.

Applicants should be comfortable grooming dogs of all sizes, breeds, and coat types while maintaining high safety standards. Strong animal handling skills, patience, and professionalism are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent customer service, communication skills, and attention to detail to ensure every dog leaves looking and feeling their best.

COMPENSATION

  • 50% commission
