Dogs thrive in an environment where they can feel comfortable being their best doggy selves, which is what we aim to achieve in our daycare playrooms, specific to each pup’s size and play style. Our Beach room is for our smaller dogs who love to play, while the Park room is for larger breeds. We also have a spacious outdoor area, which is shared by both play groups when we rotate them from their playroom to the outdoor park for a fresh-air break. We make sure that pups remain with their playroom pals no matter what, so even when they’re in our outdoor playroom, no two playrooms mix. This helps promote feelings of familiarity and comfort and eliminates any uneasiness around other dogs that don’t match their playtime vibe.

Whether you’re heading to work or school or simply want to enrich your pup’s day with wellness-focused activities, we offer half and full-day daycare options, depending on your schedule. We also provide weekly wellness plans that create a daycare routine your furry friend can rely on. Dogs thrive on the predictability of a routine, which makes our plans an excellent way for them to anticipate their next visit, where they’ll receive regular exercise, learning, and socialization on a weekly basis.

Heading out on a work trip or a family vacation? Book an overnight stay for your pup, and they’ll enjoy all the fun that daycare offers during the day and quality care at night from our doggie experts. We like to call this time a staycation for your pup, as they’ll have a blast hanging with their friends and enjoying the fun-filled itinerary we have planned.

Our full-service spa is a getaway for your pup to enjoy some well-deserved pampering as they stay on top of their hygiene routine. We provide services ranging from nail trims and teeth brushing to full grooming haircuts and more. Our outstanding groomer, Ashley Singleton, has several years of experience with all the various breeds. We make sure all pups feel comfortable in this space as they look and feel like a million bones.

It is important to us that the playroom your pup spends time in is safe, clean and supports their needs. That is why we designed each room to include different features that help make our space comfortable as it is enjoyable.

Each playroom includes webcams with HD livestreams that offer an additional level of monitoring and allow you to check in on your dog throughout the day. No matter where you are, you can tune into the livestreams on your phone or computer. The only time we turn the streams off is during naptime and overnight, when our playrooms are dark. We understand that being away from your dog can be difficult, so being able to see them playing with their friends and enjoying their day can offer the reassurance you need.

We have also included:

• Advanced HVAC system: Our dogs are never prevented from playing because of the weather outside. At Dogtopia of Haywood Road, we have advanced HVAC systems that allow us to maintain a perfectly cool 68-degree climate for playing, no matter the weather. This system also recirculates 95% of the air every 11 minutes to maintain a fresh, odor-free environment.
• Rubberized flooring: Pups are on their paws most of the day—at the very least, they deserve a comfy floor to play on. Our playroom floors use a material made of compressed rubber that reduces the impact on dogs’ feet, joints, and hips. The material is also non-absorbent and odor-resistant, which makes it easy to clean, and it won’t impact potty training.
• Double barrier doors: When dogs enter and exit their playroom, they must pass through a preliminary space between our main hallway and the playroom. This ensures we control who is coming and going and gives our team a chance to prepare each pup for play.
• Full, soundproofed walls: Rather than try to quiet all the fun to be had during doggie daycare, we have floor-to-ceiling soundproofed walls that separate each playroom. This encourages pups to focus on one another and eliminates sound from nearby playrooms. Rather than dividers or chain-link fencing, as other dog facilities may use, our playrooms are secure and provide a safe and comfortable environment for all dogs to enjoy without distractions.

Your pup will have a spacious area to play that adheres to the rigorous cleaning standards established by Dogtopia’s own Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist. We thoroughly clean all playroom surfaces twice daily, using cleaning products that are safe for dogs and free of harsh chemicals, ensuring that your furry friend is never exposed to harmful fumes.

OUR EXPERT TEAM OF CANINE COACHES

Our playrooms are carefully supervised by our Canine Coaches, who are extensively trained and experienced in managing multiple dogs of all sizes, breeds, and play styles. Having completed a comprehensive four-part training program approved for continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, our Coaches have the skills necessary to promote safety and encourage tail-wagging excitement.

Our team understands doggy body language and can pick up on cues signaling a certain behavior before it happens, allowing for a swift, compassionate response. Whether a pup needs some help socializing or a “me time” break from the action, our team can detect it and act accordingly.

As our Coaches get to know your furry friend and understand their personality with every visit, they can provide periodic report cards outlining your dog’s behavior and how their day went. This insight can be particularly valuable, as we can watch your pup become an even greater canine citizen as they warm up around others and grow their social circle over time.

Dogtopia of Haywood Road has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM facility. The Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy. The program is co-sponsored by the International Boarding and Pet Services Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Pet Sitters International, VETgirl, and Barkleigh Productions.

FIRST STEP: PASSING OUR MEET & GREET

Our team is excited to meet you and your furry friend! Before joining our Dogtopia family, all dogs must pass the initial Meet & Greet. This 20-30-minute evaluation lets us know our facility is the right fit for your dog. Our team will perform a:

• Health history overview: We will review your pup’s health records and ensure they’re feeling their best, free of any communicable conditions (i.e., fleas, ticks, etc.), and have an up-to-date vaccine record with Rabies, DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”), and Bordetella administered.
• Nose-to-tail assessment: To determine touch sensitives, we will observe how your dog responds to our team’s interactions. This is important information for us to know and use potentially in the future to make sure your pup is comfortable.

Please note that your pup must be at least 12 weeks old and spayed/neutered if they are seven months or older before attending our Meet & Greet.

The next stage is a daycare test drive. We will duplicate some of the key components of daycare to see how your pup responds to other dogs and this new environment. We do this with a:

• Mini play area: One at a time, we’ll bring some like-minded dogs into a controlled space and observe how your pup interacts with others in an open-play space.
• Crate test: Our home-style crates are used for resting, naptime, feeding, and boarding, so we assess their comfort level ahead of time.

From there, our team will gather their observations and inform you whether your pup has the green light to continue with us at Dogtopia of Haywood Road. If we determine that our off-leash environment may not be the ideal fit for your dog at this time, we encourage you to revisit us in the future when we can perform another evaluation.
