North Overland Park Dog Boarding

Home sweet home away from home where I can have my own blanket and doggie personal space.

Dogtopia of North Overland Park is not just a place for your pup to sleep; it’s like a staycation for your dog, as our overnight guests also get to enjoy fun-filled days of play and exercise with our daycare dogs. We do not have kennel runs. Instead, our overnight dogs enjoy full use of our open-play, off-leash environment. After hours of play and socialization, they will be tired but happy as they rest soundly in a place they’ve come to know and trust. And best of all, they will have made new BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever) during their stay.

Our dog care professionals will take every step to ensure that your furry family member is happy, healthy, and comfortable in their time with us. Feel free to bring your dog’s bedding with them for their overnight stay to make them feel at home, as the smell can help reduce separation anxiety or homesickness. You can also bring in their typical food, as maintaining their regular diet is important for their overall health and comfort. Check on your pup using our webcams, which you can access on our free mobile app or website, and call in to check your dog’s diet intake as we track every meal offered to our pups. Pet parents can rest assured that their furry friend is getting their treats, a two-times-per-day wellness check, and their prescription medications (if any) on time. We are also partnering with a local veterinarian just in case any pups need a quick visit to the vet.

We require all dogs attend at least three days of daycare before boarding with us. This lets your pup become familiar and comfortable with our facility and lets our team get to know your furry friend better.

Pet parents can choose between two overnight stay options for their furry friend: roomy home-style crates that the pups nap in during the day or one of our private suites. While both options are comfy, some pet parents prefer the latter for bigger breeds or to keep siblings together overnight.

THE PREMIER DOG BOARDING SERVICE IN NORTH OVERLAND PARK, KS

Our overnight guests enjoy a full day of daycare with plenty of opportunities to play, learn, exercise, and socialize. They can participate in a variety of mind-stimulating activities throughout the day, including enriching brain games that strengthen their problem-solving skills, agility-focused exercises that keep them strong and healthy, and socialization opportunities that foster confidence and create strong, long-lasting bonds. They can also participate in fun activities like Arts & Crafts, playroom bubble parties with bacon- and peanut butter-flavored bubbles, and themed photoshoots that are always frame-worthy. Your pup will have a blast during the day at Dogtopia of North Overland Park as they strengthen their overall health.

Our modern, spacious facility is 6,500 sq. ft. and includes three playrooms based on dogs’ size, temperament, and play style. Pups can feel at ease knowing they will be interacting with others that match their playtime vibe. Our Toy Box is designed for small dogs, the Romper Room is for medium-sized dogs, and the Gym is spacious for larger breeds.

All three playrooms have been designed with the safety and comfort of dogs in mind. Our floors are made from compressed rubber to reduce the impact on paws, hips, and joints, while our floor-to-ceiling walls are soundproof to limit distractions and prevent the spread of airborne doggie viruses. Unlike other dog centers in Overland Park, we separate our playrooms completely to allow dogs to focus solely on their nearby furry friends and create long-lasting bonds.

Maintaining clean, flowing air in our facility is important to us. This is why we’ve equipped advanced HVAC systems in each playroom to keep the air circulating and to maintain a comfortable playing temperature no matter the weather outside. Additionally, we deep clean our playrooms twice a day using only dog-safe cleaning products and follow the expert guidelines developed by Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist to promote the well-being of all dogs.

BOARDING SCHEDULE AT DOGTOPIA OF North Overland Park

We welcome our furry friends starting at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays, 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays, and 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. Our playrooms are bustling with activity as our team engages with our morning crowd using brain-stimulating games and fun exercises designed to get dogs moving and expending their energy. When lunchtime rolls around, pups take a break in their comfy, home-style crates for some much-needed “me” time to eat, rest, and recharge.

At 2:00 p.m., they are back to enjoying all the fun that daycare has to offer. Since the crates stay within our playrooms, it takes no time for our pups to shift gears into play mode. By 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 5:00 p.m. on weekends, our daycare dogs are ready for pick-up, and our boarding dogs get to enjoy a bit more playtime before dinner. Then, they get ready for bed, which is always a quick process since they are happily played out and ready to catch some z’s.

Many pet parents opt for a spa visit during their dog’s stay with us. After all, a true staycation needs some R&R! We provide various treatments, such as baths, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing to make pups feel and look great. Our modern dog spa equipment and supplies make this process a breeze for our expert spa team and dogs alike. By the time you pick your furry family member up from their stay, they’ll look and smell like a million bones!

SUPERIOR SUPERVISION BY OUR TEAM OF CANINE COACHES

All of our Canine Coaches are highly skilled and knowledgeable in dog body language and behavior, which allows them to “read the room” and identify the pups who may need some extra encouragement to engage in our activities or who need to take a break from the playtime action. Our Coaches are comfortable interacting with pups of all sizes, breeds, and play styles and are passionate about boosting dogs’ confidence and improving their overall wellness. Your furry friend will have the Most Exciting Day Ever in our care!

Our Coaches have completed an extensive curriculum designed by a Canine Behaviorist, which has been approved for continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. This ensures their training is up-to-date and practical for the dogs in our facility.

Our dedicated team of Coaches takes the time to understand your furry friend’s unique personality during their stay with us, so we can fill you in on how your pup’s staycation went when you pick them up. Our team also provides periodic report cards to pet parents, so the more you visit Dogtopia of North Overland Park, the more insight you’ll receive on their behavior.

OUR MEET & GREET EVALUATION BEFORE DOGGIE BOARDING

At Dogtopia of North Overland Park, it is a priority to make sure that all dogs who use our services have successfully passed our Meet & Greet assessment. Our team conducts this initial evaluation to determine if our off-leash, open-play environment suits your dog and offers pet parents reassurance that all pups in our care have received the green light from our team of experts.

During your dog’s Meet & Greet, our experienced evaluators will perform a thorough nose-to-tail assessment, review their health history, and observe any touch sensitivities. Additionally, we will use this time to observe how your dog responds to our home-style crates, as this is where they will nap during the day and sleep overnight unless you choose one of our private suites. Next, our team will create a controlled mini play space with a couple of like-minded dogs to determine how they respond and socialize. This is a great indicator of how they may react in daycare around a larger group.

Our team will return with observations and let you know if our environment is the right fit for your dog. Please note that there are some additional prerequisites that must be met before your dog can attend their Meet & Greet and join our Dogtopia Squad.

  • All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccines, such as Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”). We highly recommend the canine influenza vaccine as well, but we will communicate this to you prior to booking.
  • Must be free of any communicable conditions, including fleas or ticks, within the last 30 days
  • All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age or older, and those seven months and older must be spayed/neutered
  • Must be non-aggressive and not food or toy-protective
