Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services, has an immediate opening for an energetic, organized, business-minded individual to lead our team as General Manager. This is a role for someone with a management and operations background who understands hard work, how to deliver and train others to provide top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care. This person must love dogs – and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you! What a bonus!

The primary responsibility is to lead and develop the team to run a successful business:
- Work closely with the franchise owner on all areas of the business
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the business
- Train, mentor, and develop a team
- Create and manage staffing schedules
- Develop and manage budget and expenses
- Fully understand the daycare and boarding model
- Fully understand and be able to effectively explain the benefits of our services

Job Duties
- Team Management
- Creates staffing schedule and monitors daily schedules
- Maintains optimum staffing and development with all employees
- Leads by example by coaching all on contributing to a positive team-oriented culture
- Delivers written performance reviews and gives employees positive acknowledgement when due
- Business Management
- Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding yourself and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards
- Dismisses dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues and monitors action plans to retain those with minor issues
- Develops team in up-selling and using dog evaluations to grow revenue
- Maintains controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including forecasting, tracking, and ordering supplies; minimizing payroll and actively look for ways to maximize efficiency
- Communicates any concerns or needs to franchise owner proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues
- Ensure that dogs entrusted by pet parents to Dogtopia are secure from hazards to their health and safety
- Customer Service & Presentation
- Practice the 3 S’s (smile, story and satisfaction)
- Be knowledgeable on pricing and services
- Answer all questions/concerns/complaints with urgency and care
