An overnight stay at Dogtopia of Wheat Ridge is the ultimate doggy sleepover, and our friendly and attentive team will do everything possible to ensure our facility feels like a home away from home for your pup. Your furry family member will spend their days with our daycare dogs, enjoying supervised open play, engaging in tail-wagging fun exercises that keep them moving and active, and playing brain games and enriching puzzles that stimulate their mind and strengthen their problem-solving skills. By night, they will enjoy a restful sleep in the same playroom they were in during the day, as they feel most comfortable in a space they’ve come to know.
To create a sense of familiarity at our facility, we recommend pet parents book at least three days of daycare before scheduling an overnight stay. This is a chance for our team to get to know your pup and allows your dog to test drive what time spent with us is like.
OVERNIGHT DOG BOARDING SERVICE IN WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO
Our team will plan many activities during your dog’s boarding stay; boring is not in our vocabulary! From bubble parties with bacon- and peanut butter-flavored bubbles that float around our playrooms to themed photoshoots that include fun props and backgrounds and so much more in between, your pup will have the Most Exciting Day Ever each day they’re with us.
Corresponding with all this tail-wagging fun is our commitment to dog wellness. Unlike pups who stay at home and average 8,000 steps a day, Dogtopia dogs average up to 60,000 steps, which helps them to improve their cardiovascular fitness and become their best doggie selves. Pet parents don’t need to worry that their pup will miss out on their morning or evening walks while they board with us, as our team ensures every dog in our stay remains active and moving rather than in their crate for most of the day like some other dog boarding facilities.
When we open our facility, our furry overnight guests enjoy breakfast and join the morning crowd of daycare goers. They will play, learn, and socialize with other dogs and build bonds that tap into their natural pack instinct. At noon, we break for lunch and naptime, giving pups a chance to rest and recharge. By 2 p.m., they are back to enjoying all the playtime fun while remaining in the same playroom they’ve come to know well. When our daycare dogs are picked up, our team prepares dinner for our overnight furry friends, and they wind down and get ready to sleep (which usually happens quickly after such an active day).
Pet parents can choose between our home-style crates for their pup to sleep in overnight or one of our private suites, which can be more fitting for large dogs or siblings who want to stick together. Both are comfortable options, but if you have any questions, please feel free to call our team at 303-481-3259 or fill out our online inquiry form for more details about overnight accommodations.
OUR STATE-OF-THE-ART DOG PLAYROOMS
Our facility’s playrooms are decked out with details that benefit our pups. From the ground up, we’ve implemented what dogs need to stay safe and comfortable within our four separate playrooms specific to each dog’s size, temperament, and play style. Whether your pup is a smaller or larger breed or somewhere in between, we have a playroom that’s perfect for them so they can be around like-minded pals.
The flooring is made from a compressed rubberized material that provides a comfortable surface for your furry friends to play on while promoting their hip, joint, and paw health. We have installed soundproof, floor-to-ceiling walls in every room to reduce noise levels and limit distractions from neighboring playrooms. We also have double-barrier doors so that there’s always a secure space between our playrooms and the hallway to ensure controlled entries and exits.
Thanks to our advanced HVAC system, we’re able to keep our playrooms climate controlled, so they remain a comfortable 65-70 degrees, regardless of the outside weather. Clean air is continuously circulating, keeping our facility smelling fresh.
Each playroom is sanitized twice daily to maintain a clean environment. We follow the guidelines set by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist to ensure we’re keeping up with our standard of safety and cleanliness, and we only use dog-safe cleaning protocols for both our deep cleans and spot cleaning during the day.
Adding to the safety of our playrooms are the incredible Canine Coaches who interact with each pup and provide care and attention. Our Coaches are highly trained and have a toolkit of skills for engaging with large groups of dogs of all ages and breeds. They can also pick up on dog body language to decipher what pups feel at any moment, which is an instrumental way we help each dog at Dogtopia of Wheat Ridge properly socialize with one another.
Our Coaches have undergone a comprehensive four-part curriculum approved for continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Pet parents can rest assured that the team members who directly interact with their furry friend have received industry-recognized, up-to-date information.
WEBCAMS EQUIPPED IN EACH DOGGY PLAYROOM
We understand being away from your furry family member can be difficult. To help, we have installed HD webcams in each playroom so you can virtually join in on the fun. Accessible via Dogtopia’s mobile app and website, tune in to all the tail wags, smiles, and playtime excitement. The only time we’ll pause our streams is during naps, lunchtime, and overnight.
ADD A TRIP TO OUR DOG SPA
What better way to spend a staycation than some well-deserved pampering? We have a range of treatments at our full-service spa that is outfitted with modern equipment to help maintain your pup’s hygiene routine. From baths to teeth brushing to nail trimming and more, we’ve got your dog covered. You can opt for some treatments before picking them up from their boarding stay so they will be fresh and clean when you take them home.
REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT
Dogtopia of Wheat Ridge is welcoming of all dog breeds. However, there are certain requirements your pup must meet before they can enter our facility. They include:
- All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
- Pups seven months and older must be spayed/neutered
- Must be free of any communicable conditions (i.e., fleas, ticks, etc.)
- Show no signs of aggression or that they’re toy protective
- Up-to-date vaccination record (including Bordetella, Rabies, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”)
All dogs must also pass our Meet & Greet assessment, which takes about 20-30 minutes and allows our team to get to know your pup, answer your questions, tour our facility, and ensure our daycare and boarding is the right fit. Our evaluators will perform a nose-to-tail wellness check and health history overview, create a mini play space with like-minded dogs to observe how they respond to others, and check their comfort in our home-style crates where they’ll nap and sleep overnight (unless opted for our private suite). By the end of the Meet & Greet, we’ll either give the green light that we can begin your pup’s journey at Dogtopia of Wheat Ridge, or we’ll recommend a bit more time before they come back and try again.
