Dear Amazing Friends,

 

Woof! It’s Radar here, your squishy, goofy lab, and I have so much to share with you about my training journey! First, I want to let you know that I weathered the recent hurricane just fine, thanks to Camp K9s. They made sure I was safe and comfortable by sending me to a lovely foster home for five days. My foster took great care of me, and I felt cozy and secure, even when the winds were howling outside.

Staying with my foster family was such a treat! Not only did they provide a safe space, but it also gave me the chance to learn what it’s like to live in a real home. I got to explore new smells and make friends with their pets. It was like a mini-vacation filled with love and fun! This experience is super valuable for my training, as it helps me adapt to different environments and prepares me for my future role with my veteran. I can already imagine all the adventures we’ll have together in our own home someday!

 

Being at the foster home was a blast! I enjoyed snuggling on the couch and even had my own little spot to curl up after a day of play. It really helped me understand what it means to be part of a family. I can’t wait to bring that happiness to my future veteran! Knowing that I’ll be able to provide comfort and companionship keeps me motivated every day.

 

As much as I love to explore, I’m working hard on controlling what my trainer calls “my puppy tendencies”. The world is full of distractions—squirrels, leaves, and all those amazing smells! But my wonderful trainer is helping me focus on my training. She teaches me that staying attentive and responding to her cues is super important for the work I’ll do one day. I want to be the best partner possible, and I know that learning to concentrate is a big part of that!
