During a Meet & Greet at Dogtopia of Summerville, our trained Canine Coaches will get to know both you and your dog. The evaluation typically takes 20-30 minutes, and we’ll use that time to ask you about your dog’s personality, daily routine, energy level, play style, comfort around new people and dogs, and any specific needs or goals you have as a pet parent. We’ll also observe your dog’s behavior and interactions with a small group of dogs to determine the best fit among our four supervised playrooms. This personalized evaluation — required before daycare or boarding — helps ensure your dog feels comfortable, safe, and set up to thrive from day one.

Yes, we set aside a dedicated time for each dog and their parent to come for a Meet & Greet at Dogtopia. This allows our team to get to know your dog’s personality, take parents on a tour of our space, and answer any questions about our care.

Dogtopia of Summerville welcomes dogs of all breeds and sizes. We have no breed restrictions and believe that breed does not determine a dog’s readiness for daycare.

During your dog’s complimentary Meet & Greet, our team will evaluate your dog’s play style, temperament, and personality to determine which of our four playrooms will be the safest and most comfortable fit.

While we try to accommodate all dogs, our open play daycare is not the best fit for every dog and we will always give you our honest feedback about whether your dog will be happy here. If we feel that your dog may not be comfortable or safe in this style of dog daycare, our team will discuss that with you following your Meet & Greet.

Yes, Dogtopia of Summerville administers oral and topical medications at no additional charge while your dog is in our care, whether they’re here for daycare or an overnight boarding stay. At this time, we are not able to administer injectable medications. Just let our Summerville front desk team know your dog’s medication schedule at drop-off, and our team will make sure it’s handled.

Yes, we love our senior dogs at Dogtopia of Summerville. We have no age limit for daycare or dog boarding but we may ask you to sign our Senior Dog Waiver depending on your dog’s age.

Our facility is especially comfortable for older pups: the specially designed rubber flooring is easy on paws, hips, and joints (a real benefit for dogs with arthritis or hip dysplasia).

We are also happy to give senior dogs extra breaks or let them have additional rest if you request it; we will never force a dog to play if they don’t want to!

Yes, and our team at Dogtopia of Summerville will be happy to recommend the package or wellness plan that is the right fit for your dog and your family’s schedule and budget.

We offer packages that are charged either on a weekly or monthly schedule. You can always change to a different plan or payment schedule. We do not offer half-day drop-in rates.

Our Nexton / Carnes Crossroads facility — with four climate-controlled playrooms, a shaded outdoor area, and trained Canine Coaches — is designed specifically for dog daycare, boarding, and spa services, providing a safe, supervised, and enriching environment for every pup in our care.

Dogtopia of Summerville boarding is designed to be so much more than a place for your dog to spend the night. Every boarding guest enjoys 10 hours a day of supervised play, enrichment, and attention from our trained Canine Coaches before winding down for the evening. What makes us different is that dogs don’t sleep alone in a kennel or dog run — since dogs are naturally social, they rest more comfortably alongside the friends they’ve made during the day in a crate like they’re used to at home with their own bed or blanket. Our sleeping environment is also much quieter than a typical kennel; dogs find comfort in their friends sleeping beside them and are tired after a long day of play. For dogs who want a little privacy, we have several suites available for a small additional charge.

Please bring a bed, blanket, or something with a smell that reminds your dog of home. You do not need to bring feeding bowls; we provide stainless steel bowls for food and water and have several slow feeders and elevated bowls available for dogs who need them. You can choose to bring your dog’s own food and/or order any meals or treats from our food menu at daycare.

We serve breakfast at 5:30 am, lunch at noon, and dinner at 7 pm. Dogs always get an hour to digest their food between eating and playing.

Dogs always eat separately from each other to avoid potential food aggression and/or access to another dog’s food.

If your dog has food allergies or sensitivities, please let our team know at your first visit so we can add this information to your dog’s record.

Yes, Dogtopia of Summerville offers early drop-off for pet parents who need to head out before our lobby opens at 7 am. Early drop-off is available for an additional $10. Please let us know when you plan to drop off your dog early so we can plan for their arrival.

Early drop-off for dog daycare is a popular option for pet parents in Summerville and Goose Creek who need to be at work before 7 am, or those who have a long commute to North Charleston or downtown on I-26.

We proudly offer free early drop-off to pet parents who are teachers, health care workers, and military. Parents on the Unlimited Wellness Plan also get free early drop-off.

Yes, Dogtopia of Summerville offers late pick-up for pet parents who work late or can’t pick up their dogs from daycare by 7 pm. Late pick-up is available for an additional $10. Please let us know when you plan to pick up your dog late so we can plan for their departure. We’re also happy to feed them dinner if requested.

Yes! Dogtopia of Summerville is open for daycare and dog boarding, including drop-off and pick-up, on both Saturdays and Sundays. At this time, Dogtopia of Summerville does not have a formal cancellation, late-arrival, or no-show policy. If your plans change, we simply appreciate as much notice as possible — a quick call to 843-949-4333 or a text message to 843-258-1802 is all we need.

Drop-in daycare is $45 per day on weekdays and $35 on weekends. However, most dog parents join our Wellness Plans, which offer discounts of anywhere from 10 to 25% for dogs coming to daycare on a consistent schedule.

Overnight dog boarding at Dogtopia of Summerville is $70 per night and includes 10 hours of supervised daily play and enrichment. For an additional $10, you can upgrade your dog to a suite, which is a room with walls and a door for dogs who appreciate a more private sleeping environment or want to sleep with their siblings.

We’re just a few minutes from the City of Goose Creek and about halfway between the Nexton and Carnes Crossroads neighborhoods in Summerville.

If you’re coming from Charleston or Charleston International Airport, take I-26 to exit 203, College Park Road. Take College Park Road to N. Main Street and make a right. Make your first right on Myers Rd.

We are located behind Hotspot gas station. Please note: We are NOT accessible from College Park Rd.

Dogtopia of Summerville welcomes pet parents from across Berkeley, Dorchester, and Charleston County. Many of our regular dog daycare parents live in Nexton, Cane Bay, and Carnes Crossroads, including Brighton Park Village, Midtown, Horizons, Del Webb, and Four Seasons neighborhoods. We also care for many dogs from Goose Creek and Moncks Corner.

Many of our dog boarding families come from the Summers Corner area of downtown Summerville, and travel as far as North Charleston or Mount Pleasant for dog boarding at Dogtopia.

No matter where you live — even if that’s outside the Charleston area — we’d be honored to care for your pet for a day or a longer, overnight stay.

Yes, Dogtopia of Summerville proudly supports the Dogtopia Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enabling dogs to change lives. When you see an event on the calendar labeled a donation or Foundation event, all money raised goes towards supporting service dogs for veterans.

Additionally, Dogtopia of Summerville is proud to support local animal shelters and rescue groups like Charleston Animal Society (North Charleston and Berkeley Campus), Dorchester Paws, and other local dog rescues by offering a first week of daycare free to all recent rescue dogs. Simply let us know that your dog is a rescue when you come in!
