Meet the Team
Amber, Owner
Amber Sutton has always had a passion for animals and a desire to work with them. She’s spent several years volunteering at a Washington, D.C. rescue league and has always found the work rewarding. It was only natural for her to seek out a new career where she could combine her business skills with her love for animals. Amber enjoys the challenges of opening/owning her business and most of all enjoys handing a tired dog to their owner at the end of the day! Amber is passionate about her charitable work with rescues and looks forward to continuing those efforts through the business. Amber currently resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband, and their dog Bailey. Bailey is a wild Corgi who is always looking for trouble. In her free time she enjoys travel, fitness and attending National’s baseball games.
Ashley, General Manager
Ashley fell in love with Dogtopia when she started as a Canine Coach in 2011! She moved up to management when we opened the Springfield location in 2012 and has been with us ever since. She’s always loved animals and her whole life she thought she wanted to go into the veterinary field, but when she discovered the fun of dog daycare, it changed everything. She has a cat named Kitty and a dog named Chet who thinks he is her co-manager at Dogtopia. In her spare time, she enjoys hitting the gym, spending time with friends, and traveling whenever possible. Ashley is Pet First Aid & CPR certified!
Kevin, Assistant Manager
Kevin has been with Dogtopia since April 2013. He is a dog dad to an Australian Cattle Dog named Holly & a bird named Marley. He enjoys outdoor activities with all his dogs! Kevin is Pet First Aid & CPR Certified!
Robby, Groomer
Robby has been grooming dogs for well over 10 years! One day, after this, he hopes to open his own his own salon and create beautiful art on his canine canvases!
Fareshta, Shift Leader
Meet Fareshta! When she’s not having the best day ever at work, she enjoys traveling, trying new places to eat, and spending time with friends and family. She loves her 3 cats; Ace, Maya and Leo and she is hoping to rescue a pup to join her family! Fareshta wants to one day be a medical esthetician but until then she absolutely loves coming to work and seeing all her furry-friends <3 Fareshta is Pet First Aid & CPR Certified!
Britney, Front Desk Coordinator
Britney loves to snuggle up to all the pups as well as host bubble parties!! At home, Britney has 3 cats, named Cat, Tom, and Penelope, a Rabbit named Masami, 2 birds named Michael and Sam, and 3 dogs named Kristopherson, Cholula and Phoebe! She also loves to bake, especially sugar cookies, and listen to true crime and comedy podcasts! Britney is Pet First Aid & CPR Certified!
Lindsey, Playroom Manager
Lindsey is a grateful Dogtopian who loves spending quality time with the pups in the room and writing them A+ cards about all their exciting Dogtopia adventures! Whether it’s an A+ card or an Instagram story, there’s nothing that makes Lindsey happier than sharing the pups’ special moments with the pet parents! In their free time, Lindsey can be found at home reading anything from horror novels to philosophy, writing poetry and queer fiction, or working on an art project. Painting dogs is their specialty! Fun fact: Lindsey is a Virgo, a proud member of the recovery community, and has a BA in Literature! Lindsey’s BFFF is their cat, Shiloh. Lindsey is Pet First Aid & CPR certified!
Flavia, Canine Coach Trainer
Say hello to Flavia ! Although she grew up mostly with pits and labs, that did not stop her love for even the smallest breeds! Having her own yorkie named Fey, she knows a dogs true love of a simple game of chase. When she is not playing follow the leader with the pups in the romper or educating them in having good music taste, she is practicing her new guitar! Outside of being a passionate dog lover, she also has the same compassion for humans and hopes to pursue a career in children’s social work. Flavia is Pet First Aid & CPR certified!
Kierra, Canine Coach
Hello Kierra! A dog lover since birth, came into the world with her BFFFs Chloe and Sophie waiting to start their lifelong adventure together. Her love for dogs then later extended to cats! She is currently a cat mom to Malachi, 3 year old tuxedo cat. When she is not popping bubbles with our pups, she is at home practicing the piano. She is also currently learning to become fluent in spanish. Happy to have someone who loves learning new things on the team! Kierra is Pet First Aid & CPR certified!
Kate, Canine Coach
Kate is a student at University of Florida, currently studying human and animal psychology. Her favorite part of the Dogtopia dogs, is see all their little cliques and friendships, their BFFFs while they are here for daycare! She also enjoys being able to apply what she learns at school, she loves to watch how the dogs interact, especially the excitement shake. Her favorite thing to do with them is follow the leader ! When she is not at Dogtopia, she is driving around, while listening to music or with her furry companion Po the 15 year old chihuahua and dachshund mix. Kate is Pet First Aid & CPR certified!
Alex, Canine Coach
Alex is looking to pursue a career in real estate and interior design at Northern Virginia Community College. She is also a member of the Dogtopia cuddle team and she can often be seen giving the pups hugs and kisses, in between bubble sessions of course! Alex’s current BFFF is her cat Arwen. When Alex isn’t at Dogtopia having the most exciting day ever, she is at home perfecting her piano skills and broadening her music taste. Alex most learned skill from Dogtopia would have to be learning how to take care of others as well as herself. Alex is Pet First Aid & CPR Certified!
Juan, Team Trainer
Meet Juan, a passionate dog lover and dedicated team member at Dogtopia! Outside of work, he enjoys attending concerts and festivals, diving into the latest video games, and spending quality time with friends. His dream dog is an American Bully! At Dogtopia, Juan is all about fun and engagement—he loves playing “Follow the Leader,” practicing tricks, and giving plenty of cuddles to our furry friends. His ultimate goal is to return to school to become a veterinary technician so he can make an even bigger impact in the lives of animals. Juan’s enthusiasm for animals and commitment to their care make him a perfect fit for our team!
Shayna, Canine Coach
Meet Shayna! Shayna started working for Dogtopia because of her love for animals, and she has so much love to offer the pups! Her favorite part about being a Dogtopian is being able to cuddle with each and every pup and make sure they feel just as happy here as they do at home. When she’s not at work, Shayna loves to draw, go to the gym, and visit museums. She can also be found loving on her own beloved pets, Prince the gecko and Gatsby the cat!
Nicholas
Nicholas’ favorite part about working at Dogtopia is the sense of community—both with his fellow staff and with the dogs. He feels truly appreciated every day, and he especially loves getting to spend quality time with the pups. Outside of work, Nicholas is an avid reader (he’ll pick up just about anything interesting) and enjoys listening to music. He also fosters dogs and even looks after a few stray cat friends, showing that his love for animals extends far beyond the workplace.
Josh
Josh is one of our fantastic Canine Coaches here at Dogtopia, and his passion for pups shines through in everything he does. One of his favorite parts of working at Dogtopia is participating in our special event days—especially Bathe-It-Forward, where fun meets a good cause! When he’s not at work, Josh enjoys exploring the Virginia area and playing video games. At home, he spends time with his two beloved cats, Little Boy and Shadow.
Liz
Liz loves spending her day with the pups at Dogtopia, especially during spa time! She brings plenty of love, energy, and care to every dog she meets. Outside of work, Liz enjoys sleeping, gaming, and chilling with friends. She’s also a proud dog mom to Hera the pit mix and Princess the dachshund.
Zoe
Zoe’s favorite part of working at Dogtopia is building special bonds with each dog and getting to know their unique personalities, as well as her coworkers. Outside of work, Zoe enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, cooking, watching her favorite shows, and relaxing with music. She shares her adventures with her beloved dog, Egon, who’s always up for a good time.
Catori, Canine Coach
Meet Catori! She is currently a student at George Mason University, where she balances her studies with her love for all things dogs. When she’s not in class or in the playroom, you can find her taking long walks in the woods with her sweet pup Sasha the Beagle Mix by her side! Her favorite part about working at Dogtopia is blowing bubbles for the pups and watching them show off their awesome bubble-bursting skills! There’s nothing better than seeing the joy on their faces as they leap, chomp, and pounce their way to bubble victory! We’re so lucky to have her positive energy and big heart for our furry friends on the team!
Hailey, Canine Coach
Meet Hailey! When she’s not spending her day in the playroom, she’s at home with her two adorable pups, Marley the Maltese and Morgan the Maltipoo In her free time, Hailey loves showing off her artistic talents by creating beautiful woodburning pieces — talk about creative! Her favorite part about working at Dogtopia is getting to hang out with the pups every day and meeting such a fun and diverse group of dogs, each with their own unique personalities. We’re so lucky to have her creativity, warmth, and love for dogs on our team!
Ethan, Canine Coach
Get to know Ethan! When he’s not in the playroom with the pups, he’s spending time with his own dog Taz, a medium-sized mixed pup who keeps life fun and active. In his free time, Ethan enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing video games, and getting in a good workout. His favorite part about working at Dogtopia is seeing how excited and happy the dogs are every day when they come in and greet you at the door! Those wagging tails never get old! We’re so lucky to have his positive energy and love for the pups on our team!
Nathan, Canine Coach
Meet Nathan! At home, he has two adorable Westies, Max and Maggie, who keep him smiling and remind him just how fun life with dogs can be! When he’s not in the playroom with the pups, Nathan spends his free time hitting the gym and staying on top of his schoolwork! His favorite part about working at Dogtopia is getting to meet such a wide variety of dogs every single day and learning all their unique personalities. We’re so happy to have his hard work and love for dogs as part of our team!
Beatriz, Canine Coach
Meet Beatriz! At home, she has her adorable French Bulldog, Majesty, who keeps her smiling and reminds her just how special pups can be! In her free time, Beatriz enjoys going to the gym, working on her schoolwork, and hanging out with her friends! Her favorite part about working at Dogtopia is getting to spend time with all the dogs and seeing their playful personalities shine every single day. We’re so lucky to have her positive energy and love for the pups on our team!
Bella, Parent Relationship Manager
Meet Bella, our wonderful PPRM! At home, she has her adorable Pekingese, Bruno, who keeps her smiling and reminds her just how special our furry friends are! In her free time, Bella loves volunteering with Humane Society of Fairfax County, showing just how big her heart is for animals. When she’s not helping pups in need, she enjoys binge-watching her favorite shows, baking sweet treats, and taking long walks in nature. Her favorite part about working at Dogtopia is getting to be around the pups every day, and she especially loves that the Dogtopia Foundation gives back to the community. We’re so lucky to have her compassion, positivity, and love for dogs on our team!
Gabby, Canine Coach
Meet Gabby! At home she has two pups of her own, Benny the Collie Mix and Bear the Pomeranian Mix, who keep life fun and full of tail wags! In her free time, Gabby also coaches a volleyball team, sharing her teamwork and leadership skills on and off the court! Her favorite part about working at Dogtopia is getting to see the unique personalities of every dog and how different each pup is from the next. We’re so lucky to have her energy, dedication, and love for dogs as part of our team!
