What is a Meet & Greet and why do I need one?

A Meet & Greet is a chance for you to meet our team, share your goals, and let your dog trial our open-play daycare structure to see if it’s the right fit. All dogs must pass a Meet & Greet evaluation before scheduling dog daycare or dog boarding services.

Dogtopia requirements:

Up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines
Minimum age of 12 weeks
Traditional spay/neuter required if over 7 months

MEET & GREET

WHAT IS A MEET & GREET?

A Meet & Greet is your pup’s first step into the Dogtopia experience. It’s a chance for you to meet our team, share your needs and goals, and let your dog try our open-play daycare to see if it’s the right fit. Safety is always our top priority, so each Meet & Greet includes 20 to 30 minutes with one of our trained evaluators, who will assess your dog’s comfort level with other dogs and people in a controlled environment. Every dog must pass this evaluation before scheduling dog daycare or dog boarding services.

PREPARING FOR YOUR MEET & GREET

Once your Meet & Greet appointment is scheduled, either through our live booking link or with help from a team member, you will receive an email with access to the Dogtopia app. From there you can complete the Pet History form, review and sign the Pet Parent Agreement, and upload your pup’s vaccines. Taking care of these steps ahead of time gives our team everything we need to make your Meet & Greet smooth, stress free, and all about your dog.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Once you arrive*, our team will sit down briefly with you to chat about your dog’s social history and any goals you have. From there, our trained evaluator will take your dog into a small play area to perform an assessment in the following categories:

Nose-to-tail health check
Response to touch and handling
Crate comfort level
One-on-one social interactions with other dogs
Group play observations

After the evaluation, we will return to the lobby to share how everything went. Upon passing the evaluation, your dog is welcome to stay for the rest of the day free of charge so they can start acclimating to their new furry friends and Canine Coaches.

*For everyone’s safety, dogs must remain on a leash at all times while in the lobby
