A CLEAN, SECURE DOG FACILITY IN FORT COLLINS, CO

Maintaining a clean facility is incredibly important to us. Not only do dogs deserve to play in a fresh, sanitized space, but we also believe it helps create a safe space. Dogtopia of Fort Collins follows the strict guidelines developed by Dogtopia’s very own Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist, which includes performing a deep clean twice daily using pet-safe cleaning products.

Dogtopia playrooms are unique, as they’re tailored to meet pups’ wellness needs. Here’s what your dog can expect:

• Flooring made from compressed rubberized material that makes daycare dogs feel like we do when wearing a comfortable pair of running shoes. It is odor-resistant and non-absorbent, making necessary “in-the-moment” clean-ups a breeze.
• Advanced HVAC systems that filter in fresh, clean air every 11 minutes. Not only does this help with odor, but it transforms our indoor playrooms into an environment that offers a smell that is a lot like the outdoors, so potty training at home is never impacted.
• Floor-to-ceiling soundproof walls that keep each playroom completely separated, which eliminates doggie distractions from neighboring rooms and creates a much more secure, easier-to-supervise setting.
• Double-barrier doors allow for an extra space between our main hall and our playrooms, so all entries and exits are closely controlled.

Adding to our secure facility are our live HD webcams, which are equipped in each playroom. Pet parents receive special access to our playroom livestreams (available on Dogtopia’s website and mobile app) that allow them to check in on their pups while they’re in our care. It’s the perfect way to virtually join in on the tail-wagging fun while also helping calm any worries about being apart. The only time we turn off our streams is between noon and 2 p.m., as we hit the pause button on doggy playtime and allow the pups to eat lunch and recharge in their crates. We also turn our webcams off overnight while our boarding guests sleep.

Dogtopia of Fort Collins has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM facility. The Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM  Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy.

PASSING DOGTOPIA’S INITIAL MEET & GREET

To maintain a safe environment, our team of evaluators get to know each dog that enters our facility, which we do through a process called the Meet & Greet. This is a 20-to-30-minute evaluation where we determine if our off-leash, open-play environment is a good fit. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

• A health history overview and nose-to-tail evaluation allow our team to ensure your pup is in good health and to determine if they have any touch sensitivities we should know about.
• We create a mini play space that acts like a daycare test drive, where we observe how your dog responds to other like-minded pups. We also test their comfort level in our home-style crates, which is what they’d nap in mid-day and sleep in overnight if boarding with us.
• Finally, we provide our overall observations to you and provide you the go-ahead to book daycare or inform you whether we think your pup needs more time before attending our facility.
• During this time, we will answer any questions you have about any of our services, as we want you to feel just as comfortable in our space as your furry family member.

Before joining the pack at Dogtopia of Fort Collins, your pup must also meet additional requirements, which include the following:

• All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
• Spayed/neutered if seven months and older
• Vaccinated with an updated record, including Bordetella, Rabies, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as distemper/parvo)
• Free from any communicable conditions like fleas or ticks and in good overall health
• Non-aggressive and not food or toy protective
