West Frisco Dog Boarding

Home sweet home away from home where I can have my own blanket and doggie personal space.

Calling all pet parents in Frisco, Texas—we believe a staycation for your dog is in order! Dogtopia of West Frisco is your pup’s home away from home, whether you’re just looking to leave them overnight or for an extended period, such as while you’re on a family vacation, work trip, or have obligations that require a dog-free home.

Our doggy guests enjoy their overnight stays so much that many of our pet parents use our boarding service as a tool to boost their dog’s confidence and lower separation anxiety. You can think of it like a sleepover where your furry family member can enjoy playtime with their friends during the day and have a restful night’s sleep.

HOW DO OVERNIGHT STAYS WORK AT DOGTOPIA OF West Frisco?

Before we get into all the benefits boarding can offer your pup, we recommend all dogs in our facility first attend at least three days of daycare. This helps familiarize them with our environment and being around other dogs, while also teaching them that we’re a comforting space where they can be their best doggie selves. Plus, they’ll learn that you will always return to pick them up.

When you schedule your pup’s overnight or extended stay, they will enjoy all the benefits of an excellent daycare experience (with exercise, socialization, and education), while you can have the peace of mind knowing they’re in a safe environment—a major benefit to boarding with Dogtopia of West Frisco.

Our approach sets us apart from our competitors, as we allow our furry friends to enjoy an off-leash, open play environment during the day, with a mid-day nap in between. Rather than having dogs spend most of their day crated like you can see at other dog facilities, we prioritize playtime and freedom for our pups in a safe, supervised, and secure space.

All our dogs staying overnight enjoy the benefits of open play during the day and will generally sleep at night in home-style crates located in their own designated playroom alongside their BFFFs who share their size, temperament, and play style. Since dogs are pack animals, they feel comfortable staying near their friends. However, we also offer four private suites, which might be ideal for large breeds or sibling dogs who prefer to stick together.

MODERN DOG PLAYROOMS IN FRISCO, TX

Our state-of-the-art 6,000 sq. ft. facility is home to four large playrooms: Gym, Romper, Toybox, and Wee. If you have a larger breed, our Gym offers the space for our dogs to run and play. Our Romper playroom is ideal for medium-sized dogs with more playtime energy, while our Toybox playroom is best for smaller breeds that don’t want to play in the shadow of larger dogs. Meanwhile, our Wee playroom offers a comfy place for our even smaller pups and puppies to play and explore.

Why do we separate dogs? We want each dog member of our Dogtopia Family to feel comfortable and free to interact and play. If their playmate were three times larger and more energetic, for example, they might not feel as relaxed or willing to engage. When we group dogs based on their size, temperament, and playstyle, they all share the same playtime vibe and eye level!

When we constructed our facility, we intended to create a secure but comfy space for our Dogtopia Family dogs to thrive. We successfully carried this out in the following ways:

  • Our playrooms are separated by floor-to-ceiling walls, unlike other doggie daycares that often use flimsy dividers to break up one large space. Each playroom is a separate room, and we used soundproof walls to reduce any visual or auditory distractions. Full-length walls also help prevent the spread of potential airborne doggy viruses and reduce risk.
  • The compressed rubber flooring in our playrooms ensures your furry friends can play comfortably without hurting their paws. This flooring is also non-absorbing, easy to clean, and promotes hip and joint health.
  • Our playrooms are equipped with advanced HVAC systems that filter in fresh air to keep the air clean and circulating. We can also control the temperature of our playrooms to promote a comfortable playtime temperature regardless of the weather forecast.
  • Our playrooms have double-barrier doors that provide an additional layer of security. With the supervision of our team and the double-barrier doors, your furry friends are always safe and secure, as there is a second smaller space between our playrooms and the main hallway of our facility.

Twice a day, our team attentively deep cleans each playroom so that all surfaces are sparkling clean and ready for play. We only use chemical-free, pet-safe cleaning products and a natural bio-enzymatic spot cleaner throughout the day. Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist have established a set of protocols that we closely follow at Dogtopia of West Frisco to ensure we’re creating a healthy, safe space for all dogs.

WHAT CAN YOUR DOG EXPECT DURING THE DAY?

While dogs are boarding, they are given an opportunity to potty and be fed before the other daycare dogs begin arriving at 7 a.m.  They then get to enjoy playing on the same schedule with their daycare friends until 7 p.m., with a two-hour nap and lunch break from 12-2 p.m., where they’ll chill in individual home-style crates. This break time gives the dogs a rest, as well as the staff time to clean the playrooms to maintain our high safety and sanitation standards.

Our expert team organizes several activities for your pup to enjoy throughout the day at daycare. From agility-focused exercises to promote physical activity to mind-stimulating brain games that strengthen their problem-solving skills, your pup will have the Most Exciting Day Ever in our care as they socialize with their furry friend group of BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever) and form lasting bonds.

We also have occasional doggie photoshoots with themed backdrops and outfits that are sure to put a smile on pups and pet parents alike! We also have craft days to flex our pups’ creative muscles, bubble parties where we blow bacon- and peanut butter-flavored bubbles around our playrooms that our pups love to chase and chomp on, as well as tasty treat days with themed snacks that are gobbled right up.

Many of our pet parents opt for some of our spa treatments throughout their pups’ boarding stays to feel fresh and pampered before being picked up. We offer a range of hygiene services, from baths to nail trims and more, and only use modern tools and natural products that are safe on all dogs.

WHAT CAN YOUR DOG EXPECT IN THE EVENING?

Once playtime comes to an end for the day, our overnight dogs are fed their dinner separately, given time to digest, let out one more time to potty, and then lovingly put to bed in their individual crates or suites for the night.

We have options for dinner plans; our overnight guests can either bring their own food or we also offer high quality house dog food, which is included in their overnight stay. Bringing food from home can allow your pup to remain on a consistent diet, which we will closely follow as per your direction. We have special treats like protein bowls (chicken and rice/ salmon and rice), turkey meatballs and holiday-themed goodies that are also delicious items you can pick for your pup to enjoy at lunch or dinner.

With all those tail-wags throughout the day, our Dogtopia Family dogs are happily played out and ready to catch some Zs by nightfall. We like to call this the Dogtopia Daze, a phenomenon commonly experienced by our daycare dogs following a full day of play.

QUALIFIED CANINE COACHES

We want pet parents to rest assured that their furry companion is in safe, qualified hands, and that’s where our Canine Coaches come in. Expertly trained in dog body language and behavior, our Coaches keep a close eye on our boarding guests throughout the day, encouraging them to play, socialize, learn, exercise, and enjoy their day at daycare. By night, they offer extra cuddles before our pups drift off to dreamland.

To become a Canine Coach at Dogtopia, they must complete a four-part custom curriculum that includes updated information on safely interacting with large groups of dogs of any size, breed, and temperament. This material is approved as continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, indicating that this is up-to-date material provided to our team.

When you come back to pick up your pup after their stay, our Coaches will let you know how it went and offer that “fly on the wall” perspective that many pet parents always wish they could have when they’re away from their dog.

ACCESS LIVESTREAMS OF OUR DOG PLAYROOMS

Our livestreams are a great way for pet parents to check in on their pups during their boarding stay. Whether they’re with us overnight or for an extended stay, our webcams reassure pet parents that their pup is enjoying their time, allowing them to join in on the fun during their dog’s day.

During playtime hours (which excludes lunch, nap time, and overnight), pet parents can head over to the Dogtopia app or website and access their livestream, which is only available to pet parents with a pup at our facility. It’ll be the cutest thing you see all day!

THE FIRST STEP: OUR MEET & GREET

Before your pup can attend any of our services, they must pass our Meet & Greet evaluation, a chance for us to get to know you and your furry companion and ensure that our environment meshes well with your pup. If we determine your pup is a good fit, we can begin the steps for daycare and, eventually, boarding. However, if we think more time is necessary for your pup to feel comfortable, we strongly encourage you to return in the future to try again!

We’ll start with a nose-to-tail wellness check, which includes reviewing your pup’s health history and vaccination record. We move on to a daycare test, where we create a mini play space with other like-minded dogs that they’d share a playroom with, and we include a crate comfort test, which is where our pups rest during the day and overnight (unless opted for our private suite).

During the Meet & Greet, we will bring our checklist of requirements that Dogtopia ensures all dogs meet, including:

  • Age: all dogs must be at least 12 weeks and older.
  • Spayed/neutered: for all pups seven months and older.
  • Illness: all dogs must be free of any communicable illness for at least 30 days, including any transmittable illness (i.e., fleas, ticks, etc.).
  • Vaccines: vaccines must be administered by a vet at least 48 hours (a week is preferred) before attending our facility, which includes DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”), Rabies, Bordetella, etc.
  • Behavior: all dogs must not be aggressive or food- and toy-protective.

You can find out more about our Meet & Greet on our new pet parent info page.
