My dog (White Siberian Husky) was abused at an early age. I explained my experiences with approachment, touching, bathing, drying, brushing & nail trims. She is extremely afraid of the blow dryer & men. The sound she makes I have never heard before. It truly sounds like someone is beating her to death & she is begging for her life for them to stop. What’s interesting is she does not bite; however, she does mouth. She does snap but only at men & anyone who approaches her. We’ve been building her trust & working on commands. Each day gets better & better. The front desk, manager & groomers were sympathetic & understanding. She’s very treat driven so I brought her favorite collagen bone as that is what seems to redirect her fear to calmness & keeps her busy. The whole staff has followed my instructions such as kneeling down & letting her come to them. The last time I asked if the men could spend more time with her to gain her trust. They did & said they had no problems. YEA! Each time she gets better & better. I am so grateful for their patience, kindness, & courage to work with me to help her. As for her grooming her coat appears to be whiter & shines. her coat is brushed out, her eyes are always cleaned & her fur is dry. She is so cute with her pink handkerchief.
