• Physical exercise: Our team organizes agility-based exercises designed as games, making exercise feel more like playtime. With plenty of downtime, including breaks and a mid-day nap, pups can find their perfect balance.
• Mental stimulation: Playing with other dogs in a new environment keeps pups mentally engaged as they encounter new activities. This makes daycare an excellent alternative to staying home alone while you’re at work or school.

Overnight dogs are safely crated in a cozy environment to ensure they feel secure. If your furry friend prefers extra comfort, we offer the option of upgrading to a private suite.

CLEAN, SECURE DOG PLAYROOMS IN ST. PAUL

Dogs thrive in a clean, well-maintained environment, and we’re committed to providing them with a safe and hygienic space. The Dogtopia of St. Paul - University Ave team adheres to the rigorous cleaning protocols developed by Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist, which include thorough deep cleans twice a day using pet-friendly products to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness for your furry family member.

Our indoor playrooms are uniquely designed to focus on the needs of our playing pups:

• Rather than one large, shared space, we’ve divided our three playrooms with soundproof, floor-to-ceiling walls to boost safety and eliminate distractions from dogs in other rooms.
• Unlike other facilities that may use cement, our flooring provides a comfortable surface for dogs to play on, thanks to its compressed rubberized material. This design helps maintain the health of their hips, joints, and paw pads. Our flooring will feel like your pup is wearing the comfiest sneakers!
• To maintain cleanliness, our facility uses an advanced HVAC system that filters fresh, clean air into our playrooms every 11 minutes. This system also allows us to control the climate of each playroom so we can keep the temperature just right no matter what the weather is like outside.
• To enhance security, we have installed double-barrier doors that provide additional space between our playrooms and the main hall. That way, all entries and exits are carefully controlled and monitored.

HD WEBCAMS IN OUR DOG PLAYROOMS

At Dogtopia of St. Paul - University Ave, we understand that pet parents want to stay connected with their furry friends, even when they’re apart. That’s why we provide webcams in each of our playrooms, as well as one in our outdoor play area. This allows you to check in on your dog and see how they’re enjoying their day in real-time.

Pet parents with a dog in daycare can access the livestreams using the Dogtopia app or website. We only turn off the cameras during our designated rest time, which is from noon to 2 p.m., ensuring that all dogs have the quiet time they need to recharge.

With our webcam service, you can enjoy peace of mind, knowing you can see your dog having a great time at Dogtopia!

DOG DAYCARE AND BOARDING REQUIREMENTS

Before your dog can visit our facility, they must first check off the following requirements:

• At least 12 weeks old
• Spayed/neutered if seven months and older (may differ depending on development)
• Vaccinated with an updated record, including Bordetella, Rabies, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as distemper/parvo)
• Free from any communicable conditions like fleas or ticks and in good overall health
• Non-aggressive

DOGTOPIA’S MEET & GREET ASSESSMENT

We’re excited to welcome you and your furry companion to our facility! Our Meet & Greet is a 20–30-minute evaluation designed to help our team determine if an off-leash, open-play environment is a good fit for your dog. All Dogtopia locations implement this assessment; it’s just one of the ways we ensure a safe space for all doggie guests to thrive.

The process begins with a health history review and a nose-to-tail checkup to identify any touch sensitivities your pup may have that will help our team provide the best care possible. Afterward, we’ll introduce your dog to a small play area with a few like-minded friends. Our team will monitor their interactions and assess their comfort level. We’ll also take time to familiarize your dog with our home-style crates, where they’ll rest during the day and sleep overnight if boarding.

While your pup enjoys this daycare trial session, we’ll answer any of your questions about our facility and show you around. We want you to be just as comfortable as your furry family member!

Once the Meet & Greet is complete, we’ll share our insights and let you know if your dog is ready to join our Dogtopia Squad. If they are not quite there yet, we’ll suggest some next steps so you can try again in the future. Pups who get the green light can start their daycare journey right away!

We are conveniently located near the University of Minnesota, St. Thomas University, College of St. Catherine, Hamline University, and Macalester College, making us a quick drop-off and pick-up on your way to and from class.

If you’re traveling by car, our location has easy access from I-94, making commuting a breeze. We also have an abundance of free parking in the rear of our building, entering from University Avenue or Myrtle Street, including 16 parking spaces, convenient for safe pick-up and drop-off. We’re also located on the Green Line Light Rail, running along University Ave.

Although we’re located in St. Anthony Park, we also proudly welcome pet parents from Prospect Park, Merriam Park, Mac-Groveland, Highland, Como, St. Paul and surrounding suburbs, NE Minneapolis, and downtown Minneapolis.

We are actively involved in our community and have developed partnerships with Canine Inspired Change and Dog Haus Mobile Vet. We can’t wait to broaden our reach in the years to come!
