Owners Edgar and Ron welcome Texas pet parents to our brand-new facility in Richardson’s The Shire at CityLine, where your furry family member will have the Most Exciting Day Ever as we support their needs and provide a well-deserved dose of fun to their day. We have daycare, overnight boarding , spa services, and skilled in-house grooming wrapped up into one doggie destination, and we have a team of dog-loving experts that is skilled in interacting with dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds.

Our boarding services offer dogs a comfortable place to stay while pet parents are out of town or need a pup-free home. With the chance to engage in all of the fun activities at daycare and receive the necessary support at night to recharge for the next day, our furry guests will enjoy their very own staycation. Pet parents can choose between our comfortable home-style crates or a spacious private suite, which can be more ideal for larger dogs or siblings who want to stick together overnight.
Whether your pup stays for the day, an extended stay, or simply needs assistance in their hygiene routine, our full-service spa provides treatments by our expert spa team that they will enjoy. By the time you pick them up, they will look and feel like a million bones!
Our brand-new space consists of three separate playrooms: the Toybox for smaller pups, the Gym for larger breeds, and the Romper Room for dogs that fall somewhere in between. While our indoor playrooms are climate-controlled and provide the safe space pups need to run around freely with their furry friends, we also have a large, secure outdoor area for dogs to move around even more during our sunny Texas days. We ensure that pups are kept together by their size and play style. That way, they can feel comfortable to explore and be their best doggie selves without worrying about being intimidated by pups with different play styles.
When we built our facility, we placed a great emphasis on comfort, wellness, and safety. Each playroom is separated by soundproof, floor-to-ceiling walls that keep any potential airborne doggie viruses at bay and eliminate noisy distractions from neighboring pups in other playrooms. Our floors are made from a compressed rubberized material that is easy to clean, non-absorbent, and comfortable for pups to play on, which aids in the long-term health of their joints and paw pads.
Additionally, we have added advanced HVAC systems in each playroom that keep the air clean and circulating. Speaking of clean, our team sanitizes our playrooms multiple times a day, following protocols set by our Dogtopia experts, and uses a dog-safe spot cleaner for those in-the-moment mishaps.
Dogtopia of The Shire at CityLine has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy PetsTM facility. The Heroes for Healthy Pets Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, as well as cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy. The program is co-sponsored by the International Boarding and Pet Services Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Pet Sitters International, VETgirl, and Barkleigh Productions.
We have also equipped webcams in each playroom that displays live HD footage directly from the playroom to the pet parent via our website or free mobile app. That means no matter where you are, you can join all of the virtual tail-wagging fun. Please note that our livestream is available from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., as the two-hour break allows pups some privacy to nap and eat lunch.

EXPERT CANINE COACHES At Dogtopia of The Shire at CityLine
The team at our facility is passionate about working with dogs and prioritizes safety in all our practices. To ensure your dog has a day full of fun, we have Canine Coaches in each playroom to interact with the pups and supervise how they play with each other.
Our Coaches are trained in dog body language and behavior to pick up on any “vibe changes” in the room and can swiftly interject, if needed, to prevent a scuffle from happening and make sure those that need a break have one. Dogs who visit our facility are treated with compassion and care as we focus on their physical and mental wellbeing, and our Coaches engage with all pups so that no one feels left out.
Having undergone a four-part rigorous training process that is approved by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, our expert Canine Coaches want to see your pup thrive. Pet parents can rest assured their dog is in good hands.
We also supply periodic report cards to pet parents of our daycare dogs, which provide a snapshot of how your pup behaved with our team and their furry friend group, along with notes about their overall behavior. Pups who regularly attend daycare can also receive additional notes on their report cards on how to replicate some of the training we offer at home.
our meet & greet evaluation
Before dogs can spend time in our facility, we must ensure that an open play, off-leash environment is a good fit; that is where our Meet & Greet comes in. Our expert evaluators will organize a controlled mini-play area to observe how your pup plays with like-minded furry friends and responds to staff interaction. During this time, we will also check their comfort level in our homestyle crates, which is where pups nap at noon and stay overnight (if not in our private suites).
This evaluation is efficient yet very thorough, as our team wants the best for every pup that enters of space. Our evaluators will also conduct an overall health assessment, where they perform a nose-to-tail wellness check and review your dog’s health history to ensure they are fit for a full day of exercise and play. All dogs must be at least 12 weeks and older and have a full record of up-to-date vaccines (i.e., Bordetella, rabies, DHLPP, etc.), while those seven months and older must be spayed/neutered.
We also want to use this time to get to know pet parents, so please come with any questions you may have about Dogtopia! We can give you a tour of our facility and familiarize you with our services and team, as we want you to feel as comfortable in our space as your pup.
Once your dog gets the go-ahead and passes our evaluation, they will be set for a day at Dogtopia of The Shire at CityLine.
