During your dog’s Meet & Greet at Dogtopia of Springfield, our goal is to make sure they’ll be comfortable and successful in our open-play environment. We’ll talk with you about your dog’s history, personality and routine, then begin the evaluation with a touch assessment to make sure they’re comfortable being handled by our team.

We’ll also assess their comfort in a crate, which we use for meals, rest periods and overnight boarding. Next, we’ll introduce your dog to other dogs individually before gradually introducing them to the playroom. Our trained team closely observes their body language, comfort level and interactions throughout the process. At the end, we’ll give you a full report on how your dog did and answer any questions you have.

Yes! Our indoor playrooms at Dogtopia of Springfield are fully climate-controlled year-round, keeping dogs comfortable whether it’s a hot, humid Virginia summer or a freezing winter day. Our dogs can enjoy supervised play, exercise and socialization without weather getting in the way!

Yes. We can administer most oral and topical medications while your dog is in our care. At this time, we are not able to administer medications that require an injection. Just provide our team with your dog’s medication and clear instructions at drop-off.

Dogtopia of Springfield offers full-service professional dog grooming seven days a week! We have two professional groomers on staff and welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes.

Our grooming services include full haircuts, baths, blow-drying, brush-outs, de-shedding treatments, hand scissoring, clipper cuts, ear cleaning and plucking, nail trimming and grinding, teeth brushing and anal gland expression. Whether your dog needs a simple bath and nail trim or a complete breed-specific groom, our professional grooming team can help. Grooming can also be conveniently scheduled during a daycare or boarding stay.

Monday through Friday, Dogtopia of Springfield opens at 6:00 a.m., and you’re welcome to drop your dog off as soon as we open! Our early opening makes it easy to fit daycare into your schedule whether you’re heading to work, commuting into DC, catching an early flight, or just have a busy day ahead.

Yes! Dogtopia of Springfield offers Sunday daycare from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at our location at 7401 Fullerton Road. Your dog can enjoy supervised play, exercise and socialization seven days a week!

Dogtopia of Springfield is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. We offer daycare, boarding and grooming seven days a week. Our lobby is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but our dogs are on the same great play schedule even though our lobby is closed.  Our lobby hours may vary on other holidays, so please check with our team for holiday hours.

We require reservations for daycare, boarding and grooming so we can make sure we have space and staffing available for your dog. Reservations can easily be made through the Dogtopia app or by calling us at 703-982-0099. Need a last-minute reservation? For the health and safety of all dogs in our care, we require current Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccinations. While the Canine Influenza vaccine is not required, we highly recommend it. Vaccination requirements apply to all of our services, including daycare, boarding and grooming.

Yes. Every dog completes a Meet & Greet before attending daycare or boarding at Dogtopia of Springfield. This gives our trained team an opportunity to get to know your dog’s personality, temperament and play style and make sure they’ll be comfortable in our open-play environment.

Yes! At Dogtopia of Springfield, we believe being prepared for an emergency is an important part of caring for your dog. We partner with PetTech to provide in-person Pet First Aid & CPR training for our entire team. Our staff completes this certification training together every two years so our team is prepared to respond quickly and appropriately if an emergency occurs.

Yes, puppies under 7 months old may attend Dogtopia of Springfield without being spayed or neutered. Once dogs reach 7 months of age, we require them to be spayed or neutered to continue participating in daycare or boarding. This helps us maintain a safe and comfortable open-play environment for all of the dogs in our care.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Dogtopia of Springfield. Our playrooms are continuously supervised by trained Canine Coaches who are taught to understand dog body language, recognize changes in behavior and help keep play safe and positive.

Before joining dog daycare, every pup completes a Meet & Greet so we can get to know their temperament, personality and play style. Dogs are then placed in playrooms based on size, temperament and play style to help create comfortable, compatible playgroups. We also require current vaccinations, follow regular cleaning and sanitation protocols, and our entire team completes in-person Pet First Aid & CPR certification training every two years.

Pet parents can also check in on their dogs throughout the day using our live webcams for a little extra peace of mind.

Yes! Dogtopia of Springfield has a large, free parking lot just steps from our entrance, including several spaces dedicated specifically to Dogtopia pet parents directly outside our door. This makes daycare, boarding and grooming drop-off and pick-up quick and easy.

From I-95, take the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286) exit and follow Fairfax County Parkway toward Springfield/Newington. Take the Boudinot Drive exit, turn right onto Fullerton Road and continue through the traffic light at Boston Boulevard. Dogtopia will be the second driveway on your left, just past the Costco on Boston Boulevard.

Once you turn into the driveway, you’ll find us in Suite A with plenty of free parking directly in front of our building.

Yes. Dogtopia of Springfield is wheelchair and stroller accessible, with convenient ground-level access from our parking lot. We also have an accessible restroom available for our pet parents.
