Welcome to Dogtopia!

We are excited to meet you and your pup for your Meet & Greet! At Dogtopia, we are focused on health and safety as well as ensuring all dogs are comfortable in our open-play environment. For daycare and boarding, all dogs are separated into playrooms by size and temperament where they can enjoy hours of safe socialization, exercise, education and FUN. They’re supervised by our highly trained Canine Coaches and you can check in on them throughout the day via our live webcams!

  • What is a Meet & Greet and why do I need one?

While we love all breeds and personalities, not every dog is suited for an off-leash, open-play environment. We take our doggie guests’ safety very seriously, so each Meet & Greet consists of 20-30 minutes with our trained evaluator to ensure that your pup is a good fit for daycare. It will include a health history overview, a nose-to-tail assessment, and an evaluation of their comfort level with other dogs in a controlled mini-play area. The process is very easy and ensures all dogs are comfortable at Dogtopia – we look forward to getting to know you and your furry family member better! Please note: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age AND current on required vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP/DHPP and Bordetella). Dogs older than 7 months must be spayed or neutered.

Dogtopia requirements:

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations including Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. Don’t have your records? No worries, we can call your vet and get them for you!
  • Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old AND fully vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella;
  • Dogs 7 months and older must be spayed/neutered.

*Want to board with us for the first time? Dogtopia recommends all new overnight boarding pups complete 3 days of daycare prior to their first overnight stay with us to ensure they can make new friends and be comfortable before coming for their first boarding sleepover.

MEET & GREET

GETTING READY FOR THE MEET & GREET:

Once you submit the “schedule a meet & greet”, we will contact you to confirm the date and time of your appointment. Next, you will receive an email to set up an account and begin the registration process, where we get to know more about you and your pup. If you have vaccination records, they can be uploaded by you (or our team can do that for you), then digitally sign our Pet Parent Agreement and you’re all set! The registration process takes just minutes and if there are questions during the process, please call our daycare center at 832-308-3664.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

On the day of your Meet & Greet appointment, you will bring your dog(s) to the facility on a leash or slip lead, we will give your pup a tour of our facility and discuss the evaluation process with you. The evaluation process with your dog takes 20-30 minutes with our trained evaluator. During this time, we would love to show you around, address your questions and you can watch the playroom cameras from our lobby!

EVALUATION INCLUDES:

  • Wellness check
  • Response to staff touch/interaction
  • Comfort level in a crate – Crates are used for rest, nap time, boarding, feedings and administering medication when applicable
  • Reaction in “open-play” setting with other dogs of varying size, breed, and temperament
  • Overall observations

The process is very easy and there is nothing to be nervous about at Dogtopia – we just want to get to know your pup better!
