Welcome to Dogtopia of Ellisville—Premier Dog Daycare and Boarding in West St. Louis County
Hi, I’m Nick Losciuto, owner of Dogtopia of Ellisville. As a dog parent myself, I sought an alternative to traditional kennel-focused facilities with limited play space, inconsistent structure, and unclear training standards. Dog care should happen with transparency and clearly defined safety, cleaning, and supervision protocols. That is why I opened Dogtopia of Ellisville to serve families across West St. Louis County, including Wildwood, Ballwin, and Chesterfield, fordaycare and dog boarding.
I chose Dogtopia because the brand aims to elevate dog care standards through rigorous safety and cleaning protocols, plus full transparency. Our purpose-built facility prioritizes daycare with spacious, supervised playrooms, matched groups by size, temperament, and play style, and balanced routines blending playtime with rest periods. Our health and safety program is led by in-house experts, including an environmental biologist and Canine Coach training is developed by our canine behaviorist.
Our Ellisville facility is 10,500 sq ft with four indoor playrooms for 7,000 sq ft of dedicated climate-controlled play space. Dogs also enjoy supervised outdoor breaks for fresh air and a change of scenery, weather permitting.
What sets us apart in practice
Live webcams to check on your dog in the playrooms
Deep cleaning and sanitizing twice daily, plus ongoing spot-cleaning
Fully rubberized flooring to improve traction and protect joints
Each playroom is fully separate with an independent HVAC system and no shared air between rooms
Flowing water from fountains eliminates the need for shared water bowls that can transmit germs
Proactive coaching that guides play and reinforces healthy social behavior over time
Daycare is what we are built around. This is structured, supervised open-play led by trained Canine Coaches. Dogs are matched by size, temperament, and play style so the group stays safe and balanced, and the day includes a planned rest period to prevent over-arousal and support healthy behavior. Our live webcams let you check on your dog in the playrooms throughout the day and see how they are supervised. Every new dog starts with a Meet & Greet evaluation so we can confirm fit and place them in the right group.
Benefits vary by dog and family, but our transparent approach and trained Canine Coaches create a safer and more predictable alternative to unstructured dog parks.
Puppies: behavioral development and coaching
For puppies, daycare is not just energy burn. It is guided socialization and habit building during a critical developmental window. We focus on helping puppies learn appropriate play, build confidence, and develop better social skills through consistent structure and active coaching in the playroom.
Adult dogs: exercise and socialization
For adult dogs, the value is consistent exercise, social engagement, and a predictable routine. Regular activity supports a healthy weight, which helps protect joints and long-term mobility. Along with a far better quality of life, research has linked maintaining a lean body condition with an increase of about 2 additional years of life in dogs.
At Dogtopia of Ellisville, boarding is available to any dog who passes the Meet & Greet evaluation, not just dogs enrolled in daycare plans. The difference between boarding with us and a traditional kennel is structure. Boarding dogs follow the same supervised daily routine as our daycare guests, including matched playgroups, active supervision, exercise, and enrichment. Throughout the day, you can check in using live webcams.
Because dogs stay active and engaged during the day, evenings tend to be calmer and more predictable. For many families, this structured approach helps reduce stress and makes boarding feel like a natural extension of daycare.
With multiple fully separated playrooms, each boarding dog is placed in the appropriate group based on size, temperament, and play style. Trained Canine Coaches supervise play, read body language in real time, and step in early to keep interactions safe and balanced.
After your Meet & Greet, we include a complimentary daycare day to help your dog learn the routine and become familiar with our team before their first overnight stay.
Pamper your pup with Dogtopia’s spa services so they go home clean, comfortable, and smelling fresh. We offer baths with brush-out, de-shed treatments, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning, and nail trims. The easiest way to schedule is to add spa services to your next daycare or boarding visit, so your dog gets a full day of play and comes home fresh, soft, and ready to cuddle.
SAFETY Standards
Every playroom is staffed by our highly trained Canine Coaches, who supervise and interact with the dogs all day in dog day care. Their custom training program, designed by a registered animal behaviorist, teaches them to read even subtle body language and safely manage dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. They also observe how your dog plays and interacts with their BFFFs and share those insights with you through periodic report cards.
Dogtopia has earned certification as a Heroes for Healthy Pets™️facility. This infectious disease management program focuses on preventive care, strategic vaccination and strict cleaning and disinfection protocols, and is backed by leading veterinary and pet-care organizations.
Our spacious indoor playrooms use state-of-the-art HVAC with Sterile-Air systems that use UV light to kill airborne pathogens and help maintain fresh, clean air. We deep clean and sanitize twice per day with a hospital grade, pet-friendly cleaner, and our compressed rubber flooring is designed to support long-term joint and paw health.
All new dogs complete a Meet & Greet before joining daycare, boarding, or spa services. This visit serves as both a short assessment and a full orientation for pet parents. You receive a complete tour of the facility, an explanation of all programs, and help setting up the Dogtopia app with live webcam access.
Your dog completes a brief health and wellness check and a controlled play assessment with dogs of similar size and temperament, allowing our team to confirm they are a good fit for our off-leash, open-play environment.
Pet parents are welcome to leave their dog for a free day of daycare following the Meet & Greet, so your dog can sniff us out.
A TEAM YOU CAN TRUST
At Dogtopia of Ellisville, daycare safety starts with the people in the room. Our playrooms are led by trained Canine Coaches who are taught to read canine body language, manage group play, and step in early to keep play balanced and controlled.
Our training curriculum is approved for continuing education credits by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and combines Dogtopia’s behavior-based coursework with additional operational standards developed locally. The result is consistency not just in philosophy, but in day-to-day execution.
Meet the team responsible for those standards:
McKenna, General Manager Leads day-to-day operations at Ellisville, managing staff training, playroom structure, and the pet parent experience.
Madi, Canine Coach Trainer Trains and supports our Canine Coaches, reinforcing safe play, proper handling, and consistent group management.
Kiersten, Regional Manager Oversees operations and standards across the region to ensure consistent supervision, training, and care.
To accomplish this, we currently are funding programs focused around three worthy causes: Service Dogs for Veterans, Therapy Dogs for Students, and Employment Initiatives for Adults with Autism. 100% of your donation is given directly to the organizations we support. Our store has a goal of raising $6,000 through events and treat days on our event calendar, and every time we reach this goal another service dog is sponsored and trained to be paired with a wounded veteran. Here are the service dogs sponsored from our Ellisville donations and the veterans they are paired with!
