Common signs include slight shivering, whining, slowing down, weakness, or refusing to move. If their internal temperature drops below the normal 101°–102.5°F range, hypothermia can develop. Early signs include lethargy, pale gums, and muscle stiffness; severe signs include stopping shivering, shallow breathing, weak pulse, and dilated pupils. Dogs should be brought indoors immediately and seen by a vet if hypothermia is suspected.
