This individual should be someone who understands hard work, how to provide top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care.

Schedule:

You design your own schedule, but currently no more than 3 days M-F between the hours of 6:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Weekend scheduling as you wish. Dogtopia is staffed and has lobby hours 365 days/year. Later in the year, M-F hours will be more available. Please inquire for more information.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience OR 1 year experience post formal instruction/certification from a professional Groomer or reputable grooming school.
  • Be a AKC S.A.F.E. Certified Groomer OR pass exam within 3 months of hire
  • Be a Fear Free Certified Groomer OR complete the program within 3 months of hire

What you offer us:

Day to Day Duties

  • Personally communicate with clients including clarifying instructions, informing them of completion status, communicating concerns, and scheduling next appointment.
  • Coordinate & oversee the scheduling of all grooming/spa appointments with the Dogtopia front of house team
  • Know and keep detailed records of dog habits, sensitivities, customer preferences, and grooming records
  • Educate clients with confidence and knowledge on the services and products available.
  • Demonstrate a sincere concern and sense of urgency to remedy any problem a customer may have.
  • Ensure the safety and security of animals by using proper animal restraint and grooming procedures.
  • Perform, train and supervise bathing, including ear cleaning, nail trims, anal glands, brush outs and sanitary cuts, if needed.
  • Perform the “Perfect Groom” according to Dogtopia policies and procedures and ensure Grooming Quality Control.
  • Complete all grooms on time. Pets are completely dried and groomed according to the client’s instructions.
  • Perform client communications (phone calls, emails, greeting, report cards) in a timely manner according to Dogtopia policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all grooming areas.
  • Manage the bathing and grooming facilities including equipment. Ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, maintained, and stored.
  • Support the team in sales to grow revenue
  • Maintain confidentiality in Dogtopia practices and all aspects of the business.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to physically and comfortably interact with animals.
  • Ability to bend, stand, stoop , walk, sit or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle or reach out with arms.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to offer outstanding and consistent customer service.
  • Ability to groom dogs of all sizes/breeds and to proper breed standard or to customer request.

Customer Service and Presentation

  • Greet all customers promptly and warmly
  • Be knowledgeable on pricing and services
  • Set the example for the team on the 3 S’s (smile, story, and satisfaction) and hold accountable to internal and external customer service standards.
  • Answer phones, emails, and questions from pet parents
  • Become proficient in POS software (training to be provided)
  • Respond to and resolve incidents. Follow up with parents on health and behavior concerns.
  • Strive for high customer review ratings!
