Job Descriptions: Canine Coach | Front Desk Coordinator

As Dogtopians, we're a unique breed, we love and care for your pup like our own furry family.

What Makes Our Team Unique

It’s the Dogtopia Team who choose to work at Dogtopia that create our loving, respectful culture — from a professional front desk team to the caring and affectionate Canine Coaches who shower your dogs with love and attention.

Our Canine Coach training program has been approved for continuing education credits by International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).

Most of these educated and highly-trained staff are dog parents themselves and trust their teammates with the love and care of their own dogs. Our staff utilize Dogtopia’s open-play, spa, and boarding services right alongside our clients. We promise you, your dog will receive the same level of care and attention that we’d expect given to our own!

Meet the Team

Trevor Conti, Co-Owner

As it has been said, a dog is the only thing that will love you more than you can love yourself. I grew up on a farm, always had an entrepreneurial spirit and wanted to own my own business. With a career in wealth management, I was searching for a business opportunity and found Dogtopia. I saw that Dogtopia was not just a dog daycare, boarding, and spa business, but that the Dogtopia staff sees dogs the same way I do – as part of the family. The decision was easy. In April of 2018, with lots of excitement, I embarked on my new adventure as the proud owner of the Dogtopia of Madison West location!

Shauna Marlowe, Co-Owner & General Manager

My background is in higher education: admissions, student conduct, leadership development, and student housing. I have my Master of Arts in Applied English Linguistics, which means I’ve studied communication, intonation, body language, pragmatics, etc. When I first joined Dogtopia in 2017, I saw that I would be able to merge my experiences and studies with something I was truly passionate about – dogs. I love that I get to support a team of professionals and a community of parents who value responsible, loving relationships with dogs; I love being involved with a business that is setting the standards in dog care; and I love to say that I’m still working in continuing education, the only difference is that my students now have four paws!

If I were a dog…

If I were a dog, I would be a Rottweiler. Rottweilers have strong characters and a powerful nature but are truly big softies at heart. They are intelligent dogs that respond well when you are direct with them. Just like me, they like to work and be outside, but are not immune to the comforts of home. If left to their own devices, they may spend hours lazing around the house.

Myranda Bowe, Assistant Manager of Operations

My love for dogs (and all animals) started at a very young age given that I was raised with a farming background. When I was 15, I worked at a kennel, providing the best care possible for furry family members. After graduating high school, I was searching for a place to work that would give me experience and growth working with not only dogs but their parents as well, and that’s when I found Dogtopia. Throughout the years, I have learned so much working with the pet parents, my team, and of course the dogs. I am truly grateful to work for a company that shows nothing but love and compassion to each pet parent and their dog that walks through the door.

IF I were a dog…

I would be a Beagle. Like the breed, I can be stubborn at times; but for the most part, I am fun loving, gentle, and always looking forward to trying new things and exploring my surroundings.

I’ve worked with dogs for as long  as I can remember! I started as the neighborhood pet sitter and began volunteering as a dog walker at the local animal shelter when I was old enough to do so. Then, in 2011, I got my first real dog daycare job which truly sparked my passion for pet care and animal behavior. Since then, I’ve gained daycare, boarding, training, and vet assisting experience. So many years of diverse pet care experience has made me fall in love with pet care and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I’m so excited to be joining a team that truly cares about the dogs AND their parents.

IF I were a dog…

I would be a beagle! Smart when they want to be, goofy, and highly food motivated!

Oddly enough, my background is in Business Mangement, I even obtained my Masters in Project Management. Shortly after graduating with my masters, I fell in love with dog training when I welcomed my Great Dane puppy, Bane, into my home. Shortly after his first puppy class, I knew dog training was my destiny. Fast forward 9 years later, I specialize in puppies, teenagers, fear-based behaviors, and cooperative care. I am honored to have the opportunity to help pet parents and their canine companions identify, achieve, and surpass their training goals and to help pet families live a more cohesive and fulfilling life.

IF I were a dog…

I would be a Poodle because I am high energy, eager to please, need a task or job, and all for the “creative groom” (ie: my hair is always changing and never the same color).

When my mom moved back to Texas and took our dog back with her (he is her service dog), I began to miss having a dog around but could not have one myself. When I was looking for a job and saw Dogtopia pop up, I saw that it was an opportunity to be around and work with dogs. It got me excited. I have always loved working with dogs and animals and have wanted to. I love being able to care for all the dogs that walk in, seeing their smiles and tail wags is a great feeling, knowing they are excited to come here. Seeing them play and be happy makes my day.

If I were a dog…

I would have to say I would be maybe a Labrador Retriever. I like to think we have similar personalities. I am kind and caring like they are but also have a very awkward and clumsy side as well.

I’ve always had a passion for dogs. When I found Dogtopia, I knew it would be an amazing opportunity to not only be around them, but to learn about them. It’s probably cheesy but I love everything about working at Dogtopia! I love being around all the dogs and learning about them. The staff here are so helpful and encouraging, and I can honestly say I learn something new every day. And of course, just being able to connect with the dogs and help them have fun in a safe environment is amazing.

If I were a dog…

I would be a Beagle. We are both very loving, gentle, and love to explore everything. Although we can both be a bit stubborn sometimes, we just love to have fun!

I have loved animals since I was a kid and have always spent as much time with them as possible! When I was a junior in college, I realized how much I missed being around my family pets, so when I saw the opening at Dogtopia I applied immediately. Working here is so rewarding; getting to bond with dogs and see them grow is definitely my favorite part of the job!

IF I WERE A DOG…

I would probably be a Flat-Coated Retriever! I love people, enjoy being outside, and am very focused when I have a job to do.
