As Dogtopians, we're a unique breed, we love and care for your pup like our own furry family.

How It All Began!

As it has been said, a dog is the only thing that will love you more than you can love yourself.

Newly married, Trevor and Lindsay’s journey together has led them to the Dogtopia family.

Trevor, who grew up on a farm, always had an entrepreneurial spirit and wanted to own his own business. This led him to a career in wealth management. Lindsay, who always had a deep love for animals, dreamed of being a veterinarian but couldn’t due to allergies. Instead, she switched focus to human care, becoming a registered nurse.

Already achieving success in their careers, the next natural step was to get their first puppy together, a Great Dane named Atlas. Trevor and Lindsay love their new puppy with all their hearts and have always felt that dogs are not just dogs, they are family.

Trevor and Lindsay got married in 2017 and began mapping out their lives together as every young couple does. Trevor, who had been searching for a business opportunity and Lindsay, still yearning to fulfill her childhood dream of caring for animals, came upon the perfect blend of both worlds, Dogtopia.

Both Trevor and Lindsay saw that Dogtopia was not just a dog daycare, boarding, and spa business, but that the Dogtopia Staff sees dogs the same way they do – as a family. The decision was easy.

In April of 2018, with lots of excitement, Trevor & Lindsay embarked on their new adventure as the new, proud owners of the Dogtopia Madison-West location!

What Makes Our Team Unique

It’s the Dogtopia Team who choose to work at Dogtopia that create our loving, respectful culture — from a professional front desk team to the caring and affectionate Canine Coaches who shower your dogs with love and attention.

Our Canine Coach training program has been approved for continuing education credits by International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).

Most of these educated and highly-trained staff are dog parents themselves and trust their teammates with the love and care of their own dogs. Our staff utilize Dogtopia’s open-play, spa, and boarding services right alongside our clients. We promise you, your dog will receive the same level of care and attention that we’d expect given to our own!

Shauna Marlowe, Co-Owner / General Manager, CPACM

My background is in higher education: admissions, student conduct, leadership development, and student housing. I have my Master of Arts in Applied English Linguistics, which is essentially the science of communication – intonation, body language, pragmatics, messaging, teaching second language speakers, etc.  I was first interested in working with Dogtopia because I saw that I would be able to merge my experience and studies with something I was truly passionate about – dogs. I love that I get to support a community of staff and parents who value responsible, loving relationships with dogs; I love being involved with a business that is setting the standards in dog care; and I love to say that I’m still working in continuing education, the only difference is that my students now have four paws!

If I were a dog…

If I were a dog, I would be a Rottweiler. Rottweilers have strong characters and a powerful nature but are truly big softies at heart. They are intelligent dogs that respond well when you are direct with them. Just like me, they like to work and be outside, but are not immune to the comforts of home. If left to their own devices, they may spend hours lazing around the house.

Myranda Bowe, Assistant Manager of Operations

My love for dogs (and all animals) started at a very young age given that I was raised with a farming background. When I was 15, I worked at a kennel, providing the best care possible for furry family members. After graduating high school, I was searching for a place to work that would give me experience and growth working with not only dogs but their parents as well, and that’s when I found Dogtopia. Throughout the years, I have learned so much working with the pet parents, my team, and of course the dogs. I am truly grateful to work for a company that shows nothing but love and compassion to each pet parent and their dog that walks through the door.

IF I were a dog…

I would be a Beagle. Like the breed, I can be stubborn at times; but for the most part, I am fun loving, gentle, and always looking forward to trying new things and exploring my surroundings.

Before I applied at Dogtopia, I had worked retail without being truly passionate about the work I was putting in. I needed an opportunity to thrive and grow; not only mentally but as an employee as well. At Dogtopia, every day is rewarding. Whether it’s the tail wagging or the gratitude from the pet parents, there’s always something to be proud of. They say pets are family, and I’ve come to love these dogs as if they were my own. I’m not ashamed of my enthusiasm here, and my team has done nothing but nurture it. Looking into the future isn’t intimidating anymore, it’s inspiring.

IF I WERE A DOG…

If I were a dog, I would be an English Bulldog. Like the breed, my disposition tends to be gentle. Along with their love of relaxing, the desire to please runs deep for me too. Their dependability is key for creating a reliable relationship with the people in their lives. However, we find common ground when it comes to our resistance to exercise!

When my mom moved back to Texas and took our dog back with her (he is her service dog), I began to miss having a dog around but could not have one myself. When I was looking for a job and saw Dogtopia pop up, I saw that it was an opportunity to be around and work with dogs. It got me excited. I have always loved working with dogs and animals and have wanted to. I love being able to care for all the dogs that walk in, seeing their smiles and tail wags is a great feeling, knowing they are excited to come here. Seeing them play and be happy makes my day.

If I were a dog…

I would have to say I would be maybe a Labrador Retriever. I like to think we have similar personalities. I am kind and caring like they are but also have a very awkward and clumsy side as well.

I’ve always had a passion for dogs. When I found Dogtopia, I knew it would be an amazing opportunity to not only be around them, but to learn about them. It’s probably cheesy but I love everything about working at Dogtopia! I love being around all the dogs and learning about them. The staff here are so helpful and encouraging, and I can honestly say I learn something new every day. And of course, just being able to connect with the dogs and help them have fun in a safe environment is amazing.

If I were a dog…

I would be a Beagle. We are both very loving, gentle, and love to explore everything. Although we can both be a bit stubborn sometimes, we just love to have fun!

I have always wanted to work with animals when I was young. I really wanted to be a trainer at a zoo or something along those line. I outgrew my previous job and I knew I wanted to work with animals. When I was looking for a job, I saw Dogtopia and thought, “This will be so much fun!” I have never had such a fun, rewarding job as this one. Working with the dogs here is always a blast and makes me look forward to going to work everyday.

If I were a dog…

I would be a Pembroke Corgi. Like Corgis, I am a very happy and bubbly person, but I can also be very stubborn and set in my ways. I try to be like Corgis in the sense that they are adventurous and bold. I’m so like corgis that my own is like my mini me!
