Our dog experts offer a wealth of information on health, safety, nutrition, and dog behavior. Dogtopia employs an environmental biologist and a veterinary scientist to ensure the highest level of safety in all our locations.

Dr. Antje Joslin

Veterinarian

Dr. Antje Joslin brings more than 18 years of small animal experience in both private and corporate practice. Her love of animals is not just professional; along with her husband and four children, she shares her household with several lovable pooches. In her free time, she enjoys many outdoor activities and traveling with her family. Dr. Joslin earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and German as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. She can answer any questions you may have related to vaccine protocol, general wellness (like heartworm, flea, and tick prevention), the spay and neuter process, first aid, and diet and exercise for a healthy weight.

Lorraine Rhoads

Senior Director of Health & Safety

Rhoads has provided expert guidance and system-wide support at Dogtopia since 2015. Her background includes work as an environmental biologist and wildlife rehabilitator, and she is a current member of the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine Futures Council. Rhoads supports franchisees across canine behavior, facility excellence, and health and safety best practices. She also advocates for Dogtopia’s Top Dog Facility Standards through regulatory and legislative engagement, helping advance responsible, high-quality dog care across the industry.

Lorraine devotes her time outside of Dogtopia to her family, friends, and community, always ready to include her beloved pup, Diamond, in her adventures. Ask her questions related to dog safety, including toys, grooming products, play equipment, travel safety, emergency preparedness, and safe cleaning products and procedures.

That’s why we created the Dogtopia Canine Behavior Expert Council, a group of certified canine behavior specialists within our network who bring advanced knowledge of dog behavior and training to everything we do. The Council develops best practices, supports our franchisees, offers advice to pet parents and deepens Dogtopia’s commitment to behavior-based care across every location.
