People magazine recently interviewed Dogtopia’s animal behaviorist, Collen Demling, on how to prevent dog attacks, and how to react if they do occur. There are going to be times when pet parents take their dogs out and there will be no signals that a dog gives before attacking. It is important to prepare yourself for these types of aggressive dog encounters.

Demling told People, “If your dog does attack someone else, stay calm. If you start screaming, your dog will likely attack more. Instead, quickly grab the back legs of your dog and pick them up in the air.”
