With more than 2,300 adorable furry best friends submitted in Dogtopia’s “The Most Exciting Day Ever Contest”, the dog-loving people have spoken after two months of voting – choosing Lab mix Obie as the winner.

Nabbing the top spot thanks to his playful demeanor and award-winning smile, Obie and his pet parents Katherine Nabozy and will be given free daycare for an entire year at the Bloomfield, Michigan location. With Dogtopia’s mission to make every day the most exciting day ever, Obie can look forward to keeping that smile on his face, while Katherine and Brad can rest assured their dog is receiving the socialization, exercise, and education necessary for a happy and healthy pooch.

“We have to physically carry Obie out of daycare when we go pick him up, so when I saw this contest I knew we had to enter,” said Katherine. “I truly did not anticipate this much support. It means the world that so many friends, family, co-workers, etc. helped Obie win the contest to have such an exciting year.”

Beginning June 28 through August 28, the nation’s leading doggie daycare center invited pet parents across the US and Canada to share their favorite photos of their pups for the puppy-loving community to see. Dog enthusiasts were then encouraged to cast their vote on which pup had the best “Most Exciting Day Ever” face. Honorable mentions include runner-up Stella, a black Lab from Wilmington, Delaware, and Paislee, a Puggle from Old Bridge, New Jersey, who came in third – both will receive a box of dog and pet parent-related goodies from Dogtopia. “It’s the Most Exciting Day Ever at the Dogtopia Support Office as we now have an official contest winner! Our congratulations go out to Obie, a cute pup with a personality that has won the hearts of the people,” said Neil Gill, president and CEO of Dogtopia. “With nearly 4,000 votes, Obie and his pet parents did an impressive job at campaigning. What a wonderful reward for Obie, he gets to socialize, exercise and brush up on his general education at daycare for an entire year.”

Dogtopia dogs enjoy an open-play environment with protective rubber flooring to ease joints while promoting socialization, exercise, and education. Dogtopia’s fees are all-inclusive with meals prepared according to each pet parent’s request at no extra charge, or pet parents can bring their own food.

“Obie is a special dog – our staff lights up when we see him come in for daycare,” stated Mark Wayne, owner of Dogtopia of Bloomfield. “He’s super in the playroom, gets along great with other dogs, shares his toys, and has an all-around great temperament! We are excited that Obie is Dogtopia’s Top Dog!”
