WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GO FROM DOG MOM TO “PROFESSIONAL” DOG MOM?

I wouldn’t be a franchisee today if it weren’t for my dogs! First, I was a Dogtopia customer in Alexandria, Va. Then we moved to Seattle and realized they desperately needed a Dogtopia – and there wasn’t one in the area. I was accustomed to the Dogtopia way of doing things and couldn’t find a suitable substitute. So, we opened one!

HOW DOES BEING A DOGTOPIA FRANCHISEE COMPARE TO BEING IN THE CORPORATE WORLD?

If I had known it was going to be this much fun, I would not have lasted 25 years in corporate work. I love this place down to my soul. I love my pet parents and all my “babies.” Nothing makes me happier than to see the dogs come in the door. When I need a break, I just go into one of the playrooms and get some puppy love. They shine me up and send me back out ready to deal with humans!

WHAT’S THE BEST DOG MOM GIFT YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?

When we were at Dogtopia of Alexandria, our dogs were there for Mother’s Day. When I came in to pick them up, they had made paw print flowers with my dogs’ feet. I cried; it was just so charming. I still have them all these years later. And, we are going to do the same thing at my Dogtopia this year.
